[ROM] Incredibly Re-Engineered v2.3 [02-8-11] Fast, Beautiful, and Simply Magnificent

Simply Incredible

Chingy, def. out did yourself. Thanks for the hard work you put in. This is my first ROM since rooting and I'm still amazed at how smooth it is. Good dictation on XDA about flashing and how to mod the themes, amazing that all you have to do is read to get the answers!

I have been rocking this ROM for a week now. Love it. I have downloaded in tried to install a new lock screen mod to get away from the stock moto droid unlock pattern. I installed it using metamorph and all is well but the only place that I see the new carbon unlock screen is when the phone is ringing I slide it down the answer. I want to change the unlock to the standard HTC unlock that you slide down to unlock the phone after waking it up. What am I doing wrong? I have ready....and read again and I can't figure it out.

You have to have Root Explorer from the market, go into that then /sytem/apps and look for HTClockscreen.bak; set root explorer to "r/w" up in the top right corner and then click on the lockscreen.bak and renam it to a ".apk" then search for "deskclock.apk" the icon should look like a square clock and delete it, then hot restart the phone

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I did it and now have the proper unlock screen! I didn't delete the deskclock.apk Is there a reason that that file needs to be deleted too?

Thanks
Bryan

Not entirely sure. It was in the dictation for the ROM about deleting the deskclock.apk, Chingy explains his resoning...it had to do with remapping something...be sure you flashed the update to undo the remapping of the alarm

Aside from all that, I've been getting too many FC's and reboots, its ridiculous. I expected a lot more from this ROM because people have been referring it to me for the longest. I never experienced so many hiccups on an Incredible ROM.

Dissapointing =(

I am currently running the base version 2.3. I know there is the new version 2.3.1 out now. If I flash the 2.3.1 version is that just an update of what I have or is it like starting from scratch? I am not having any issues with the v2.3 so I am a little leary to flash any updates. I certainly don't want to got through the entire process of setting everything back up like you have to do after flashing a new rom.

If you're not experiencing any problems I wouldn't make the jump.

version 2.3.1 is just an update to work with the new clockworkmod 3.0. You really don't need to flash this if you don't want. However, if you do, then you just flash it over 2.3...no wipe required.

Hope my Dinc is not bricked,
I tried to flash this ROM now that its been updated for 3.0.0.5.
I did the norm, like always,
cleared cache/factory reset
cleared cache partition
cleared d cache in advanced settings
install in recovery screen, install rom from SD
went through the flash, flashed successfully
rebooted
Now its sits on the white HTC Incredible screen, I know, let it sit there it takes a long time. I let it sit for an hour, still on the white screen. pulled the battery, rebooted.
Im now letting it sit on the white screen again, Its been about 15 minutes so far.

If nothing happens, Im thinking I can reboot into recovery and flash my back nandroid?

Anyone else have this issue? any ideas before I try to flash my backup?

Thanks
Ken

tried 2.3.1
I just dont have ANY luck with this rom. before when I had recovery 2.5.1.4, I could get 2.3.0 to work
Dinc sat there on the white screen 2nd time for about an hour.
Went into recovery and did a nand restore back to Skyraider 3.5
Restored with ease just like the last time I tried to flash this rom
I guess some things are not meant to be. This is the only rom I have ever had trouble flashing. No problem with redemption, virtuous, skyraider.

I was having the same problem. Was driving me crazy I tried to install 3 times. I went all the way back to 2.5.1.2 and it worked fine. I had previously installed 2.3 and removed it because the default mail program would remove all pop email once it was deleted from the server. It does the same with this build :(. I switched over to K9 and it works but, I prefer the default email program.

Does 2.3.1 have some bug fixes? 2.3 has a few too many force closes and reboots, and in fact, I got caught in a reboot loop this morning. I had to pull my battery and go back to a 10-day-old nandroid (same ROM). I really like the ROM, though, so I'd hate to have to give it up because of this.

It's been particularly buggy since the market update.

2.3.1 was buggy for me too. I think 2.3.1 was made tow work with CWM3. Could be wrong though. Either way, I didn't keep it for a whole day because I got so many FC's and reboots.

Sent from my INCredible phone

I am not having any issues with force closes or reboots but, my battery life has gone to crap. Has anyone else had this problem or is there a fix out there?

Flashed 2.3 a couple of weeks ago, no issues at all. Battery life is good, it's snappy too. Read carefully and it should just work. Great ROM!!!

It was great for me at first as well. However, the reboot loop occured because of the phone - I hung up the phone and got caught in a force close loop which led to a reboot loop.

And yes, I did do a full wipe before flashing, and no, I haven't been applying themes left and right (I haven't flashed a single one).

alarm clock

This rom is definitely incredible. had it for about a month now, and just did the update. awesome. two things i noticed.
followed instructions to install the rom to a T (wiped everything etc...). my gmail and market are not translucent (no big deal - just an observation) Everything else is perfect. 2nd thing is (and this one matters to me) Set my alarm for this morning at 8 am. Alarm went off fine at the correct time. I picked up my phone (screen was off), pressed power button to turn on screen. at lock screen, I unlocked the phone and there was no way to turn off the alarm. I tried everything, I mean EVERYTHING! Finally I had to shut the phone down to get it to stop alarming. I tried again later today and the same thing happened. Anyone have the same issue or have a way to turn the alarm off? Thanks.
