[ROM] Official CM10 Nightlies on your GS3!

My only three questions are: 1.why there isn't a brightness toggle or bar like a true jelly bean stock rom has? There are so many other steps as far as adjusting the screen display. I don't want to cloud up my home screens with battery hogging widgets and apps. Is this something in the works that will be seen in future updates. 2. Also, one of the coolest features of the galaxy s3, atleast for verizon, was that you can adjust the vibration intensity of your capactive buttons, as well as notifications and incoming calls. This is by far the most annoying thing with cm10 for me. I am willing to donate to this brilliant and ever updating build. The vibration is so intense that it makes my phone feel cheap and it makes me want to disable vibration as quickly as possible. it's much softer when dialed down a bit. this of course goes for the double tapping and holding down of the home button as well as launching the app drawer. 3. Also the ability to adjust the time that the capactive buttons light up is a very smart feature that we lose with cm10. keep up the good work and hopefully someone will hear out my suggestions. willing to pay to keep the fire alive! Thank you CM devs! I love you. Mod kings are back.

First off, I want to say that none of us here are CM devs. I am not, I am just posting this thread for easy access to their ROMs for our members... with that in mind I am going to answer your questions.

1. I don't know why, again I am not a CM dev nor am I associated with the CM team. My only guess is they are still working on that or they have no plans at all to put it in.

2. This is not a stock android feature so therefore in order to get that you will need a kernel that will support it for Jelly Bean. On the Galaxy Nexus they have many kernels where you an adjust the vibration sensitivity. Samsung just made it part of the ROM, with stock CM you need a kernel for it and there is no such kernel available yet.

3. I am sure that this will be an option sooner or later. Don't forget, these are nightlies so they are constantly changing.

So I'm on the Sept 16th update and for some reason my phone doesn't ring when a person calls me. I fixed my sound/ringtone settings tons of times and still nothing happens.

After installing the ROM I keep getting a text from 6250 that says VZWNMN Any way to stop this?

Thanks

Sounds like something do with Verizon Wireless. Just googled it and apparently it has something to do Verizon and you have to call them to stop the messages.

Never had that issue, only issue that I had was the slight lag with the phone but other than that sounds usually worked fine for me.

Taken by the camera... yes. Downloaded from the browser I believe so but I am not 100% sure on that.

Sorry for the lack of updates, had a death in the family and haven't been online for a couple days. OP has been updated for the newest nightly.

Can you let me know how to do it? I'm thinking of flashing this again since its that much more stable, but would like to know how to change the setting for the camera before doing so.

any one else have no speaker volume? I am getting nothing, only for alarms and music, ringtones are fine.

You aren't the first person to mention that problem. Are you on a nightly build or the M1 build? If you are one a nightly bud then I would recommend that you try the M1 build.

My question is as a noob. so I flashed 9/20 nightly build but I see a 9/21 build.what are the necessary steps before I flash a new one? Do I need to back up my current ROM?

Nope, if you dirty flash the ROM over your current build there is nothing you need to do and you won't loose anything in the process. To dirty flash you just need to wipe you cache/dalvik/system. No need to wipe data/factory reset when flashing nightly builds.

Sometimes a dirty flash can cause bugs....if you experience any I'd say make sure you have a nandroid backup and backup all apps and settings with titanium backup and do a clean install.

With CM nightlies I haven't experienced bugs from dirty flashing nightlies. Only had issues flashing nightlies if they where week or so apart from flashes.

I ran into a few errors here and there that were fixed with a clean install. Have you ran M1 at all? If so how is it? I'm currently running AOKP but there are a few minor things I don't like that I can't change such as lock screen vibration and the status bar being static on the lock screen instead of full screen. Might try out M1 here soon.

I have not run M1, I ran nightlies for the most part and then ROMs like CleanROM. I know some people on here who are running M1, I will see if I can get them to chime in. I never ran AOKP either since I heard there were many issues there compared to CM10 so I stayed away lol.

I've been running AOKP build 2....the only issue I've had is the notifications not working for my email accounts. Otherwise it is very stable.

Going to have to check it out... Missed AOKP. However, Roman of AOKP has stated on twitter that his JB Build 2 was a mess which I give him massive respect for admitting it. It has been turned over to a new dev and apparently its working out great so far. Build 3 should be soon.

Running the M1 build with LeanKernel 0.16 and runs pretty nice. I am happy with it. AOKP Build 3 is out on other devices so I would suspect that we will be getting that soon as well.

Made the jump to M1 tonight working well. I suspect bad battery life though. I want to flash the KT kernel but I've never flashed one before. It is nothing like flashing a ROM is it?...Really could use some guidance...everything I read is so hard to understand and very vague.
