Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM

Can someone post the stock GB kernel for this ROM? I had gROM up and running and finally found a work-around for infrastructure-based Hotspot using the WiFi tether 3.1beta 6 app since the Hotspot doesn't seem to work yet on these GB roms.

Installed this ROM and been running great, but can't get wifi tether to work properly. Reading a few others forums, seems some guy had luck on a different platform switching back to a stock ROM vs. modded, so was hoping to do the same to see if there's some other hook that drew's ROM is missing that dis-allows wifi tether to create the hotspot.

DO you want stock boot.img or just the kernel?

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM

Just looking for the kernel. Liked the other stuff you've done with the ROM and want to keep running OptiROM, just wanted to experiment to see if it's something in drew's kernel that's preventing my wifi hotspot from working or something broader. Not sure how to extract from gROM and don't want to have to re-install that just to get a stock kernel back.

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM

Corrected: Beezy, just for clarification, assuming I can just flash a stock *kernel* and everything will still work (aside from OC and other tweaks drew has made). that's how I understand it to work, please correct me if wrong.

I thought about that so I used drew anykernel zip to make a flashable zip that will only replace the kernel part of the boot.img leaving the ramdisk intact. Nothing edited in that should effect what your trying to do.Plus if you change our ramdisk you would break other stuff.
In the attahced zip
-stock kernel(aka zImage)
-stock wireless module(so wifi will work)
-it is not signed,so if you get error in recovery just tell it not to check the sig.

You are correct you only lose OC with this kernel.

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM

Rom is running flawlessly except still a little choppy...thinking its the gb update. Even @ 768 it is slowish, but my phone always random reboots on 787 its sad...so Ill wait and see if it fixes itself. You said it might be because ID is still there? Im on barebones with everything removed with titanium.

PS Can we get the htc mod keyboard from reborn? I like to run @ 120 screen and keyboard stays the same size as 160. Great KB too...

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM

I was able to get WiFi Tether to work (Infrastructure + WPA2) on Drew's kernel, although I couldn't get the WiFi tether to stop without crashing the phone... heh...

We have a gingerbread keyboard picked out. Something happened when it got themed and caused an issue (a couple pages back). But, we are replacing it in the next build. You can check page 4 if you would like to push it to your phone rather than wait...

So is this rom based off of the new gb update that came out.

You know, more releases to work all the bugs out, but I'm impatient, so I'll probably install it today.
