Quick question...i had 2.6 flashed...and the dummy hotspot kernel flashed as well...i flashed the 2.7 patch and now want to flash sc 2.7...if i do that, i noticed the dummy hotspot kernel is not included, does that mean i will have to reflash the hotspot kernel again separately, or does it stay on my phone once ive flashed it?

I came from that same setup and no you won't have to re flash the kernel. Just make sure you use the correct cwm and then wipe cache, d cache, then flash 2.7.1

Stock Messaging App on S.C. Froyo 2.6 Question

I have a question regarding the stock messaging app. I'm using S.C. Froyo 2.6. Just about all my contacts have a facebook picture associated with them but in the stock messaging app some of the pictures aren't showing with the contact? Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Did you wipe data/cache/dalvik before you flashed superclean over the stock eb01?

I didn't because I did that before installing that ROM and I had also formatted my SDCard so I was pretty clean but it wouldn't hurt to do that and it might help.

I'm sorry guys. I'm putting the patch back up. I really don't understand why the switch to Edify is messing things up so badly.

I promise next release will not have this issue.

I'm running the first 2.7 voodoo you put up and I haven't had a single problem. I flashed a theme too...i did flash everything using the red cwr, I don't know if that makes a difference though...

I tried the suggestions - thank you - but even after installing the correct files (including the frank 2.7) I have version 2.6.32.9/EB01 because that's what the phone gave me, even with the 2.7 installation. I didn't get any errors or hangs, though! I'll just stick with that for now - no worries!

I do have the bitmap errors. I'd like to try again but for some reason my phone will not take my PIN that I set. I've tried many, many combinations in case my fingers slipped when setting the password (twice?) but can't get into my own phone. As if I needed another obstacle.

I assume if I re-flash to 2.6 the password issue will go away and I can do this. I guess I have to do that anyway to remove the 2.7 patch. I'll let you know how it works out.

Stop blaming yourself. So far it seems anyone who flashed using jt1134's new cwm_recovery_all has had no problem. I think everyone who was getting stuck at boot animation was using cwm_froyo, the red cwm before jt1134's current iteration which had the bitmap error messages. And like DXC said we know there is a certain risk we are taking when we root and flash things.

That is the correct version, nothing is wrong. You are supposed to be on version 2.6.32.9/EB01

Adrynalyne thanks for all the work! I must say there are couple of roms out there but yours is the best! No need to apologize as we are all learning from this.

PS- can someone update the download link for 2.7.1 rom?

After using the new cwm_recovery_all I was able to install 2.7. My problems are solved. Thanks!!!
