[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the difference between these two:

TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 auto data restore
No wipe is required before flashing, it will automatically backup and restore your system apps/settings/data.
TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 clean install
Wipe 3x as you would any ROM in the past. Complete fresh start.

[NEW] Mini Theme v1.8

I finished up the last Mini Theme revision for TrulyEpic Rebirth. Did a bit more toying around with a few of the custom icons. I really enjoyed doing this for everyone, I know its nowhere near the quality and depth of themes found elsewhere but its also my first attempt at themes which involved not only the graphic side of it but also learning and modifying the framework for Froyo.

Change Log:

- All apps used for icon changes pulled directly from TER 1.5 so hopefully everything "gels" perfectly.
- Retouched a few of the custom icons. SMS/Phone/Gmail/Email/Settings/Camera/Contacts/Browser.
- SMS application is the voice mail sms fix w/bubble texts + the icon change.
- Added the new Market v2.3.2 update (faster loading)
- Added Gingerbread Google Desk Clock (credit amosher13 xda-developers)
- Tested on TER v1.2 and TER v1.5

To access Google Desk Clock goto you Applications drawer and you will find the icon. Also you can long press on your home screen and choose Widgets and find it in the list.

TER Mini Theme

Is there any way I can edit the zip to remove the branding on the notification bar? It's not the branding I mind but the placement I find distracting. (On the transparency background)

If you feel like rewriting the framework-res.apk for the Mini Theme then you more than welcome to... Otherwise you can't simply edit it out without decompiling and recompiling the framework.res-apk. Sorry.

I can not get my jawbone ICON to pair now that I installed TER 1.5 ant sugestion.

says it needs password confirmed but does give me any place to enter thanks.

newbie question, once all the new official Froyo ROMs come out we just need to take the zip file and just flash? I have TER 1.5 installed currently...

TER uses EXT4, and official Froyo uses RFS. You'll either need to 1) Odin back to stock to flash an official Froyo based ROM, or 2) Wait for an official Froyo ROM that uses EXT4.

What branding are you referring to?

Where it says "TrulyEpic Rebirth" on the Lock Screen and also appears in the background when the notifications screen is extended. Normally it would say "Sprint" in place of TER.

I just updated to TER 1.5 and my apps are still not all seen in the "installed app" section in the marketplace. Should I restore to factory defaults and then reflash 1.5 and let the marketplace automatically pull them back down?

hey rag and paul are you guys going to be working on updating this to EB13 or will the original creator of this rom soon take over and do that?

No but here is a few words from Ragnarokx.

Actually it looks like Ahmgsk (dev of original TrulyEpic) might not be continuing support for TrulyEpic, as he is working on porting the MIUI ROM to the Epic (a HUGE undertaking).

But I'm in talks with someone here at AC to create a new AndroidCentral Epic ROM after official Froyo comes out. Might not be immediately, but I would like to continue having an exclusive ROM here for all the great members we have.

Were going to have to wait and see if this "someone" here at AC surfaces with something once Froyo is out and there is a working deodexed/rooted base to work from.

Bad news: no more TrulyEpic Rebirth :'(

Good news: Hero_Over is working with the Froyo source code as I type this, and is planning an update to Baked Snack based on EB13 in the coming week. I'm sure it will include an overclocked kernel as well. On Eclair Baked Snack had the best speed and battery power, so I'm sure history will repeat itself with official Froyo.

So when he releases it, I assume we would just flash it with CW3?

We are going to have to wait to find out what method of CWM we will be using as things develop. Could initially be using old CWM2.x.x.x on RFS Filesystem, until they create a kernel supporting EXT4.

I have been getting a google framework force close over and over again all of a sudden, can you help out here? It looks like I am having issues with the market as well, had the issues with 1.7 and then updated to 1.8 theme but didn't fix it.
