I wouldn't worry about what other people are or are not doing. If you're happy with what you've got, does it really matter? My philosophy anyway.
Yeah, I plan on jumping to EB13 at some point, but not until I see a ROM that appeals to me as much as TER did.
After experiencing the horror that is the EB13 video camera, I think I'll be coming back to TER.
I've seen that a few people are running TER with the genocide kernel, maybe with a few issues. Is anyone running genocide v0.2a with TER 1.5 with no problems?
EDIT: Wow, apparently Sprint and/or Samsung took down the EB13 update due to the issues people are experiencing:

Yup, no problems. I'm running at 1GHz and battery life for me went from about 16 hours to over 24.

Im still running genocide .01 and I'm getting great battery life. Got juice defender, roam control, under clocked to 800mhz, phone is as responsive as ever, with almost double battery life. I won't leave TER until something really awesome comes along. I have no glitches at all. No reason for me to go official. Ill probably wait till we get 2.3 or 3.0 and some roms for them. (or a new phone lol.

Ok, quick question on this statement and how it relates to the clean install version of TER 1.5:
If I'm coming from official stock EB13 (RFS), and I want to use the TER 1.5 clean install, do I still have to convert to EXT4 and install CW v3 first, or will wiping and flashing the clean install take care of all that?

you will need to flash in ODIN to go to DK28. EB13 is not compatible with TER. You will have to flash, convert, root, and then install TER. its not nearly as complicated as it sounds. I did it 6 weeks ago, with no previous experience, in about half hour (including reading about how to do it). My only tip- if you want GPS to work... get a GPS lock in stock BEFORE flashing dk28. like, do flash while phone has lock, or you prob wont have gps in dk28/TER.
use this thread for info on ODIN. theres links to appropriate sites for downloads and step by steps. this page might also be helpful. everything I know now, i learned from reading those two pages, and the other stickys in this section of the forums about flashing (sometimes the answer lies in comments people have made and not the original post.. because any problem you are having, chances are someone else already had and has asked and had answered). if you want the odin files and cannot find the place to download them... send me a PM with your email and i will email the files to you when i get out of class in like 2 hours. I have all the required files i have ever needed saved at home on my laptop.

nandroid? I use Mybackup Pro or Titanium in gui or CW3 backup outside. Is nandroid better?
Well a nandroid backup (backup from within CWM) just takes a snapshot of the entire OS, and lets you restore the entire OS if the kernel makes it unbootable or something.

i love the backup option in CWM. works great. just make sure you have plenty of battery life before flashing/backing up/restoring. CWM loves drinking your juice.

this is probably a really dumb question... but has anyone TRIED flashing TER over eb13??? I mean.. it this just an assumption that the software is too different and it wont work? its not important to me to switch to official froyo. i love mine as is. but... what exactally doesnt work (does it not even turn on, or just certain glitches taht havent been worked out yet??)?
I have EB13 i from eclair (non rooted) and want to try TER. how do i do this?
So i did the zip file update yesterday, upgraded from stock and i am not impressed with EB13. From what i am reading people are prefering TER over EB13. So i would like to root my epic and give TER a try. Do i need to go back to eclair first. Not sure where i should start.

TER is based on Dk28 build of Froyo you will need to odin to the old leaked dk28, root it to EXT4 and Clockwork. and than flash the TER with clock work

I have now my phone with Eb13 rooted and TER v1.5(files EXT4) and the lastest theme 1.8 thanks to Rag and Paul.
