Go back to recovery and then to mounts and storage. Wipe data, cache, boot, and system. Then flash the rom and reboot. Let it boot fully then back to recovery and flash GK v08.1

Yeah i said to do a privacy reset after flashing the update.zip NOT once rooted and rommed. Very sorry for the confusion. Hope you figure out your issue.

yikes. good thing some thoughtful dev removed it ;)
to review: currently running opti-rom 1.1 and gk 8.1 with no issues, but getting screen distortion that flicks in and out of normal after flashing your mom (lol). the problem persists even after formatting boot, cache, system, and data in addition to the usual stuff. tried gk 8.1, changing clock speed and any number of reboots with no change.

praying I don't have the same issue with hydroROM when it comes out. :-s

Your not using Titanium Backup are you? And are you just wiping and then flashing ONLY the ROM and rebooting....

PS. Sorry if you have answered this already but I need to know for my own sanity.

Well I have TB on my phone, but I have not been using it to restore my apps after flashing. And yes, I am only flashing the ROM after wiping.
This is what I do:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe devlik cache (just prior to wiping here is where I get the "E: can't mount dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (no such file or directory)" error)
Format system, boot, data, cache
Install from zip on SD card: debug format system
Install from zip on SD card: your mom
Boot
Wait for full boot and then wait 5 min more. <-- screen glitch is present from here on out except in recovery
Boot to recovery
Install from zip on SD card: noIQ patch
Boot
Wait for full boot and then wait 5 min more.
Boot to recovery
Install from zip on SD card: GK 8.1
Boot
Wait for full boot and then wait 5 min more.
Reboot, reboot, tried f-ing with the processor speed, ect.
pull out hair
smack head on wall
Boot to recovery and run recovery
reboot to opti-rom and no more glitches

I get that error too, its looking for a partition that isnt set up. All I can think is maybe your device is just mean and doesnt like you... either way, stick with what works... oh... when you flash Optirom did you also flash the no-iq and the kernel?

My phone hates me?! D: ;)

I have just been using my nandroid backup to restore optirom (Excuse my noobness. I think I mean nandroid backup, but I am unsure if that is the proper name). When I initially installed optirom in October, I did flash NoIQ and I have been using GKv5.1 since then.

I can flash GKv8.1 after restoring optirom with no issues.

That is what I did initially, and then added flashing all the other stuff later, hoping it would fix things.

I will give it another go.
