I really hope this is true. I really don't want to wait all the way til September for this phone. We've waited long enough.
Lol. They might as well say that the phone will release some time between the years of 2010 and 2020!
I'm still shocked that NO specs are released and Moto seems pretty comfortable treating us like mushrooms (Keeping us in the dark and feeding us ****). I just don't see how we keep hearing in final stages, launching soon, sign-up pages, etc... Moto can't do a Photon style release with some confirmed specs or a picture for Pete's sake. I mean if they're not happy on even releasing a graphic image does that mean they're not entirely certain this is how the device will look? Poor form. Moto needs to give us some damn thing, anything, A teddy bear, even, that says 'Feels better, oh and we used an OMAP4 4460 processor in the Bionic."

There's already been a few people who want this device but don't want to be left waiting indefinitely and are simply going to go pick up a Charge. Such a shame.

As the release gets closer I'm sure you will see some leaks and video. I'm thinking the September 1 release is the closest to accurate info out right now. I base this off of the very limited amount of info that's been leaked. If the release was a couple to 3 weeks out there would be some video out at the very least. I say don't count on an early August release. End of August is more likely is my opinion

Just because they are keeping it under locks doesnt mean a later release the less they reveal the more suspense will be around it. Come on people its common sense. Just keep people guessing then release it followed by a heavy marketing campaign. You have to remember it is moto they do everything backwards.

Was about to post this. We've heard plenty of times from people who know Verizon reps that they are keeping a very tight lock down on the info related to the bionic and who can get their hands on it.
I mean if it still had bugs we would hear about it i think this is close to a launvh and they are going with a sort of apple like suspense and actually keeping it more under wraps. We knew about the tb before hand because of all the bugs it had which iis why at first we knew so much about the original bionic.
all the leaks, pics and video are part of the marketing campaign. Testers start leaking pics, pics start turning into videos, videos start turning into release dates, after a few release dates are bounced around 1 comes to the forefront as accurate.

I agree. And I understand lack of information builds suspense, ship, and they could be doing that, but I'm a creature of habit. Moto doesn't keep things suspenseful. They've already made two 4G dual core phones (Atrix and Photon) and they've all been announced about a month/month and a half before release, so the Bionic is nothing special worth hiding. I know the Bionic is under the 4G LTE and that makes it different in a way, but still it will advertise as Verizon's 4G dual core phone (like Photon and Atrix is for Sprint and AT&T, respectively). It's not a mystery, it's not gonna be the best it's just going to be apart of the trio it seems, it might be better than the two predecessors (like the Photon is to the Atrix) but nothing that requires mass silence and secrecy.
My prediction, not to be confused with facts:
I see this going 1 of 2 ways. Either the Bionic will be announced soon maybe, this week, maybe after the Galaxy Tab comes out or this Samsung Slider 4G nonsense and release in September like the same path Atrix and Photon are going.
OR
Motorola understands this phone has been delayed long enough already and had it's announcement in January and they will announce the phone again w/ changes in the same time frame aforementioned above and release the phone a week or so later for a quick purchase. But I won't put it past Moto not to go this path and stick with their previous announce/release schedules.
(I also understand Verizon has a huge say in this matter as well, let's just use Moto and Verizon as the same term here)
Workodactyl you just hit a home run. I think people are getting caught up in the hype and not looking at the entire picture.
Bionic doesn't carry any more weight than the Photon. It's just Verizons version. Nothing more nothing less.
I look at the big picture and with what little is leaked how can you claim it has no more weight? It has lte, a different processor that is about all we know from leaks and may have a larger screen. Also without any hands on you can't claim anything. Just like your blur sucks before you ever tried it. I think everyone just needs to wait and see. Clearly you are going with the gs2 and you dont know how verizon will mess with that and how the two will compare. Not to mention Verizon tends to go on their own schedule not really worrying about the other carriers.
