S6 Edge - Screen rotation does not work properly

I did send my phone back to Samsung and it should be back in my hands today. I will let you know if they fixed the accelerator or just did a software update. IF they only did the software update and the axis is still stuck on 32.9 or whatever it was hell will rain down on them. My wife's and parents phones are perfect. There is no need for this crap. Just replace the phones Samsung.
 
So I got my phone back and all is work right now. The repair statement says that part 1209-002199 IC-ACCEL/GYRO sensor was replaced. Let's hope I don't have to send this phone back.
 
guys i see you still playing with ****tie samsung get iphone and everything will be ok. Samsung lost my confidence, i am done with samsung phones, they even dont try make any special statement over internet....
 
Can anyone recommend an application for debugging both the accelerometer and gyroscope? I'm on verizon so AFAIK the debug settings are disabled. I'd like to make sure I know exactly what's broken if/when they attempt a software patch.

I'd like to know of an application that we can use on Verizon as well.
 
I think I'm going the Samsung repair route...I'd rather it be fixed once and for all than get a new one and have to avoid using the fast charger...my wife will just have to go back to her S4 for a little while...

FWIW, I swapped mine for a new one at Best Buy a month ago and it's still working fine. My wife's S6 edge has worked fine since she got it. We both use the fast charger every night.

lol look how many customers still troubling with screen rotation, did u red all topic? maybe u are lucky one who do not have such issues....samsung keeps replacing phones and its useless, after some use time they dead, samsung need to fix hardware....but we do not have any official statement what causes those issues....

I didn't get a new phone. Samsung replaced the part for me. I have the part number and everything. If they did replace the phone I would have had a different Serial number. Don't get me wrong I think they are handling this wrong but at least I have a phone that works correctly right now. My wife's phone and parents are all working great. Could have easily been a bad batch.

Have you used the fast charger since you got it back from Samsung? If so, does it get hot? Some people report theirs does not get hot using the fast charger.

Do it. Yea it sucks to be without the phone but I got mine back in under 14 days. Shipped it out Saturday the 9th got it back on the 18th.

Aistis you need to properly read what is being written before you comment and bash Samsung. If you are "done" with Samsung then be done, leave this thread and leave the rest of us alone that want to get their phone fixed, meaning mailed to a repair center to have the defective part replaced, your opinion of Samsung doesn't concern me. Please go buy your Iphone and move on.

I have no idea if it's valid but everything I'm hearing is that the update that will fix this is coming mid June. I think it will be after that before we can really answer the question of hardware/software problem and whether it has been fixed.

The worst part is I will be staying away from Rapid charge until the update just in case.

Skinneejay's post (see below) is definitive proof, IMO, that this is a hardware problem. Samsung is not going to replace the accelerometer chip unless that is what was broken. On Sprint (and I think Verizon), they have rolled out a software "fix" that will make the screen rotation work but this will not fix the actual accelerometer. There are apps that use this information and those apps will not work properly. If you're hardware is broken, it's broken and you need to have your phone replaced or fixed.

I'm on my 3rd S6 edge and unlike my first 2, the rapid charger does NOT make it hot and has not broken the accelerometer. In other words, the rapid charger is not at fault. The bad batch of accelerometer chips burn out during charging and becomes super hot. So you should not worry about using the rapid charger. If you use it and the accelerometer breaks, the chip was bad.

Hey there, I got my GS6 Edge about a month ago, no problems so far (*knocks on wood) and I use the fast charger that came in the box, I also use any charger that I already had.
The phone does not get very hot, I'll say warm, and like I said, no issues.

I guess most of the people that don't have problems just don't post about it, so we only hear from those that got a bad phone.

I keep hearing about this software fix, but can't find any actual links to it, or anything from Sprint/Verizon.... I don't think there really is one being offered by any carrier - but there is some app that has been mentioned by name (though I can't remember the name right now) - I used it and still nothing rotated. I'm waiting for my replacement by mail.
