S6 has no HDMI, MHL or other video output

Right, you just hook the S6 up to the all cast receiver by using the screen mirroring toggle. It's very easy to do

My Galaxy s7 is suppose to arrive today.I don't like mirrorlink because I don't like having to always hook up a cable. My head unit is the Avh x3700 Bhs.Does not have hdmi input. Could I connect usb cable to a bluetooth dongle and then wirelessly connect my phone. I couldn't use an "usb to hdmi" cable cause that would require wifi. Suggestions anyone?

I have a Kenwood 9702S and a Samsung S6. The pair was functional when connecting via the usb. Android Auto worked great.....that is, until the Marshmallow update more than a month ago. I bought the Kenwood 9702S just after its release last year and because of all of their marketing was centered around the use of the android phone and connecting it via the hdmi/mhl cable, I thought Kenwood just forgot to tell everyone that cough, cough, it was just a small issue that Samsung dropped mhl and the majority of android phones were not going to be able to do what they had been marketing. Once I personally got over the anger of that, I caved and started connecting my S6 via the usb and I was a convert, I got hooked on Android Auto, and after a couple of months of bugs of apps, updates of apps, or whatever, it started working really good, the updates no longer hampered the performance, and I was starting to forget about how much I paid for the Kenwood head unit and it didn't do 70% of the stuff it was supposed to....and then bingo, bango, the Marshmallow update hit, and the one thing I had been satisfied with about my setup, Android Auto, instantly became very unstable and about 3 days later.....quit. Golly gee, life is grand, isn't it. Of course, the 3 monkey routine (hear no, see no, speak no) has been in full play for over 5 weeks now as no one is offering a fix and I have yet to even find someone even acknowledge something is being done which would affect my specific setup. Kenwood advertised a wireless dongle for a while alongside the 9702S and the 9902S, and sites like Crutchfield actually offered it for several months, well kind of. They always showed they were out of stock, when in reality they had never received any of them, and they finally quit advertising them. There sure is a lot of sham marketing going on in the electronic world. I have about 3 grand into a sound system in my car that was primarily setup for use via mhl. This time last year I was upgrading to an S6, which I wouldn't have done had Samsung been just a tad more public about dropping mhl. Now after the latest update, what did work on this expensive setup quit.

Now I would be very interested in anything that would make my system work better, or should I say at all, which is why my interest was spiked with the dicussion about mhl3. Fact? Does it work with a Samsung S6. Why has Samsung told me my phone doesn't support mhl? Confused, skeptical at best.

Wow.

Just tried enabling 'screen mirroring' on my S6 and bang, up pops the 'do you wish to connect' message on my Sony Bravia. Full screen mirroring rather than just throwing out pics and videos.

I swear I tried this the other day and got nowhere.

Where do I find the screen mirroring function?
