Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Ok when I tried canceling this morning on my PC, the cancel button was grayed out. I tried canceling via the Samsung Shop app and it worked - sort of. here's what happened in my case:

On the app, it offered me the 10% discount (up to $100) to be applied to my payment method upon shipping if I elected to keep my order and I would receive an email confirming the discount. Below it said I would receive $85 off if I elected to keep my order, otherwise press cancel. When I accepted by pressing keep order, I got a brief pop-up window that read "discount mismatch" that quickly disappeared. I did not receive a confirmation email.

I logged on to the orders page on my PC and selected help via chat. After almost 2 hours of chatting with a rep and then a supervisor (both with Middle-Eastern looking names) they told me I would receive a 10% discount coupon upon shipping that was good for my next order. After going in circles a few times, I demanded next tier customer service to file a complaint and after more waiting, they confirmed the discount would be applied to my order as a refund upon shipping, apologies for the misunderstanding, etc. They also confirmed that shipments are scheduled to be fulfilled the week of 9/2. (I don't know if this is only for T-Mobile variants or across the board).

I don't even know if it was worth all the hassle, but as I'm typing this, I received my confirmation email for 10% discount for not canceling my order.
It's not across the board because they told me yesterday mine was changed from shipping on 9/15 to 9/23.. just got tired of messing with them and cancelled and ordered through Amazon. Didn't want the headphones anyway. Getting my phone with the wireless charger and dex pad tomorrow. Could have received it today but wasn't going to be home.
 
Another thing I'd like to point out is that they kept telling me that after checking with every supervisor on earth, they kept confirming that the current offer is a coupon for 10% off the next order. Sounds like they are in the process of nixing the 10% discount on the orders already placed.
 
So im at the pool yesterday laying poolside about to pull out my laptop and do some work. I forget my Note 9 is wrapped in my towel and it falls out. a 2ft drop at the most hitting the wet pavement. Im thinking damn i know my **** is at least scuffed in the corner or something. I quickly pick up the phone to notice nicks in the corners and then I notice a crack in the screen that spread like wildfire due to the 100 degree outside heat.

I immediately leave and go straight to Sprint and make up a BS story telling them my **** cracked right when I was taking it out the box.
They give me a side eye pass and swap me a new phone but made me cop liquid glass screen protector that retail for $45 but gave me $10.00 off due to my long term Sprint vet account.

So be warned. Compared to the Note 8 this phone is flimsy
They also let me keep all the accessories box and all.
 
Chatting right now with care. I ordered Oct. 23 and they gave me an estimated ship date of 9/10. Now I'm trying to get the 10% discount from them to not cancel.

When did you order? I suspect shipments will be going out as they receive shipments from overseas based on order date priority (1st in line to last in line) and they also have different shipment receive dates based on carrier version.

I also would have been happy with the wireless charger and dex pad but I already ordered & received the charger and wife is expecting the headphones for letting me order the phone, lol,
 
@dre22era: I read they postponed the originally scheduled launch date cuz at the last minute they opted to go for a thinner screen glass.

You got lucky! I pre-ordered a Tech21 glass screen protector which has very good reviews and it has adhesive throughout the entire contact area. I received a 30% discount for ordering it along with a case. Still more expensive than what you got though.

So I decided to try the cancel discount trick and after I did it I got "discount amount missmatch." WTF you can bet I'm on the phone with support right now...

I was late to the game. Didn't order till 8/22 and wasn't too aggravated until they moved my order out a week. Besides I was getting a little nervous wondering what I would do with them if I had a problem. Dealt with them with 2 note 7's, S7e, and the note 8 but just didn't feel like the hassle with them this time was worth the few dollars I would have saved. Plus again I really didn't want the headphones and was just going to sell them on eBay anyway. Samsung.com has always amazed me at the lack of availability of phones on hand and the difficulty of working with the CSR reps. For those of us who went through the two note 7 recalls it was a nightmare, so that is probably effecting my decision to cancel my order with them.
 
That's not a bad deal.

Someone posted earlier that the 512GB version is not available in stores and the $500 off is spread over 24 months on EIP only & if you pay off early, you lose the remaining credits. I think Costco has a better deal.
 
Usually with the lump sums off through a carrier there is red tape and a commitment involved

When did you get off chat? Because I've been chatting and trolling them all week, and my chat button is just completely gone from the shop Samsung app. I thought maybe it was just me, but my buddy sitting right next to me has his 128 Att note 9 in hand, and he was chatting earlier about redeeming his v-bucks, and now his chat button is gone too. I think they got fed up with us? Lmao

So you flung a unprotected phone across concrete and are surprised it cracked?!?
 
So I preorder on the 10th and so I didn't receive on the 24th. Samsung then said the 26th. Then a email said the 30th. Now they are saying Sept. 2nd. Basically they have no clue what they are doing.

Wait what? Seriously? What model?
 
It is fair to say, at least for myself, that I don't see this "your device will ship in the week of August 26" happening. Pretty disappointing
