Samsung Moment 2.1 - I have it

It's Android 2.1. There's pictures all over the internet of it. There's probably not anything new he can show us. People were just asking for pics because they didn't believe he had it.

He has said he doesn't want to share a rom dump, etc... so there's really nothing of value here.

other then it should quiet the folks up who claim that Sprint/Samsung is not going to release 2.1 for the moment.

Wow... some people are real a$$$oles. This guy comes here, probably excited about being one of the first to get 2.1 on a moment and you guys jump all over him. He probably actually has a life and was busy over the holiday weekend. providing pictures to prove his honesty is probably not that high on the priority list. Why would he probably risk his job and dump the files from his device... yeah that's not traceable... how many people in KC named Joe have 2.1 on their moments? Your making this guy out to be worthless if he doesn't give you what you want.... 2 words... grow up!

I think it is of great value he has shared this with us. we can rest assured that 2.1 is not too far off and will be a reality. Thanks Joe!

Where do you think all the leaked roms for all the many, many different devices all over the internet come from? Lol... I don't think anyone was asking him to post it publicly and tie it to his name.

Anyway, it's his stuff and he can do whatever he wants with it. I'm just saying, objectively, there's really nothing of value here. All we know from this thread is that some guy in Kansas City has a copy of a pre-release rom update that may or may not be what we are going to get in the final release which may or may not be released at some time in the near future.

How about the fact that there is someone on this forum that does indeed have it along with a seemingly greater scope of info than the rest of us do, who is willing to share what he can. Why he would at this point, I don't know. Even if he originally had a bit of desire to share a dump with us (shoulda rephrased that!), all hope was lost when multiple people had to step in with the ignorant, childish behavior. Just because there is nothing of value to you, doesn't mean everyone else shares those thoughts. Not cool.... I for one am very glad he shared this with us and hopefully he will be willing to look past the rejects and continue to share with the community.

I'm sure it's easier to go from 2.01 to 2.1 then it is to go from 1.5 to 2.1. The Droid eris hasn't received the update yet.

Probably one of the main reasons why it didn't take that long for the droid to get the update.

Multitouch does not appear to be enabled in this build. Screen lock looks about the same. The one thing I did notice was the digital clock on the screen. There's slide-to-answer and slide-to-ignore on the phone screen. They made some interesting changes to keep you from face dialing and face hanging-up.

There should be some interesting things discussed in a meeting later this week. I will keep everyone posted. Release date is close. Very close.

Somebody posted something in another thread that 2.1 for the Moment and the Hero were going to be released at the same time. If this happens, then it will be a coincidence. That's not how the releases are planned. They are two separate products. The Hero's 2.1 strikes me as being a little behind the Moment's. I'll ask a buddy who has 2.1 on a Hero and see what he's heard.

Multi-touch is a kernel implementation but their has to be hardware support for it. We still do not have 100% verification that the hardware actually supports multitouch integration.. just fyi

That's what I figured. As far as I know the manufacture does the coding for the release and sends it to Sprint for testing, now if Sprint finds any bugs, etc it gets sent back to the manufacture who then fixes the code and sends it back to Sprint for further testing.
