I don't know what this blue bar is. Sounds like a defect in that unit and should not have been on display.
Let's be honest, while I and apparently quite a lot of other owners love the pixel 2 ....Without all this critical mass of dissatisfaction, we would not have gotten the 2 year warranty, the dimming lower task bar and the Google team working hard to give folks more choices in color saturation. And that's the biggest problem. All these reviewers and bandwagon jumpers are going to dull sales, which could damage the brand. I sure as hell won't be buying a Samsung anytime. Right now Google is the only one making a true quality device.

It's a win win! I could care less what other folks see, I believe my own eyes.
More than that, I would not be surprised that if sales take a hit, there will be a price reduction, and that's onething I thing we can all agree on...the Pixel 2 XL is slightly over priced.
I really don't have much of a blue shift at all. My only complaint is that the dark scenes I videos are really difficult to view. I'm comparing this to both an iPhone 7 and a Samsung Note 5. I'm hopeful this issue can be addressed thru a software update.
I don't agree. The price is perfectly in line with flagships. I said this with last year's model and I'll say it again this year. If Google went with Nexus prices reviewers would have called it cheap garbage. By confirming to Apple/Samsung prices they align with "premium" devices. It sucks. But blame apple and Samsung. Not Google.
I definitely disagree with that analogy. Bad comparison for sure.It is in line with flagship pricing. The problem is it is not flagship quality at the moment. You think people buy a Lexus and accept Kia quality just because they paid the premium price?
Turn up brightness. I've always watched videos at high brightness on OLED.
I already watch at 100%. Maybe mine is defective. I'd hate to swap it and get one that's worse
Have you run any of the Black Crush tests. How does your pixel do?Could be. I only experience this at about 40% brightness in the dark. If you have auto brightness on and are in a dark room it tends to aggressively dim. Maybe try disabling auto brightness and check again before going the rma route.

It's not a bench mark. It's a screen testI don't know what that means. I just use my device...I don't do pintles benchmarks since they have no bearing on real usage.

That is why I said slightly, if they offer you a $100 credit and discount the new buyers $100 off the price...Are you going to say NO the phone is priced right?...Keep your money Google.. LOL
(Also this is for the P2 XL not the non XL which , I think is about right)
and of course it is all conjecture...They may not discount it at all, but I am still keeping the 2 year warranty... LOL
The "reviewers and bandwagon jumpers" are not the ones damaging the brand. Google is damaging their Pixel brand with shoddy quality control.
I agree with the others who have stated that the "bashing" is mostly due to the massive disappoint many of us have with this device. So many of us have been waiting 2-3 years for exactly this device, yet Google screwed up the display so badly and wants $850+ for it. I desperately want to love this phone, but I can't until they get these panels fixed, or at least consistent. Other than the display quality, I think the phone is damn near perfect. And I'll say it one more time.... it's the huge inconsistency that leads to threads like this. Some people with good displays are quick to defend Google and bash their fellow consumers as being "whiners", while the rest are left trying to prove the serious issues that came with their very expensive device.
