Sprint S3: Wicked Sensations 5.0

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

Since upgrading I've noticed that a lot of my Google calendar appointments don't show up now. I have tried different versions of the calendars in the ROM but all are the same. This is the only issue I have with 5.0.

I'm not having any issue with my calendar. Did you do a clean install?

No. Flashed it right over the beta.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

I did a full wipe and flashed again. So far so good. I didn't think bit would be a problem coming from the beta. If it happens again I'll let you know.

I guess just out of habit, I always do clean install even when flashing newer versions of the same ROM. You shouldn't have an issue now.

A new Halloween Theme can be found in the Updater. Big thanks to bigpappags3 for putting this together. It looks great.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

When I dirty flashed 5.0 I didn't even see a theme section in the updater. Now that I did a clean install everything is there. I just flashed the Halloween theme and it looks really cool. Great job.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

I'm really going to miss this ROM when I get a new phone. Where is this ROM headed after the S3?

No idea. Dazed has had a HTC one for a bit now, but is still supporting this ROM.

I plan on keeping the sgs3 updated for awhile, even though I don't use it as my daily phone. My plan for my next phone right now is the S5, but that can always change.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

Is this ROM able to port to another carrier other than Sprint but still on a touchwiz based phone?

It is possible to port to a GS3 on another carrier, with Dazed's permission of course. If someone were willing to undertake the port.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

I have a few questions to throw out there if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

  • I was pretty excited about the Kuban Updater, but it doesn't work for me. I'll select a mod and tell it to update and all it does is reboot to recovery and I can't find the files to flash. There is no visible Kuban Update (or anything similar) that I can find on my internal storage partition.
  • Possibly related, in Goo Manager and The ROM Toolbox Pro I am being told that I am running CWM recovery when I'm not. I wanted to be able to flash ROMs and such from these tools as well, but they won't let me because they somehow think that I have CWM recovery. Full disclosure: I had CWM recovery initially, but switched to TWRP recovery after doing some research on the ROMs I wanted to try out. I installed CWM through Odin (download mode) and then replaced it with TWRP by flashing it directly from my SD card. I'm not sure if that missed some straggling files that make some of the apps think I have CWM installed still.

Other than those two issues I am quite enjoying the Wicked Sensations ROM. Thanks in advance to anyone who can lend some assistance or point me in the right direction.

*Edit* I did a bit more research and found someone on XDA who had a similar situation (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136984). It looks like I may need to unroot and return to stock and start over. This time I will make sure to flash TWRP recovery from Odin and go from there.

Luckily this device doesn't take too long to do that. If it was my previous device I think I would have pulled my hair out. At any rate, I'm going to go this route when I get home from work and see if that does the trick and will update with my results.

*Progress Update* Okay, so I went back and unrooted to stock, re-flashed TWRP recovery through Odin, wiped, rooted, then flashed WS 5.0. It's working like a charm. The Kuban Updater is working as it should. I must have missed a step or inadvertently corrupted something with my original attempt. Great ROM with some great tools and goodies.

Ok. Glad you found some answers already. As far as the updater downloads they should be in a folder called kubandownloads.

Thanks. That is exactly what I found and that folder is not visible when I boot to recovery. I was so confused, but finally got to what will hopefully be a good solution. I will post a link to the thread with the issue I had just in case someone else has similar trouble trying to find the .zip files in recovery.

Re: Wicked Sensations 5.0

I have one final question...how do I inactivate the the toggle (with the little android on the border of my screen that slides out a launcher bar)? This is the only tool so far that I don't care for. I thought it was the Advanced Toggle, but when I froze it, the toggle is still on my home screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
