T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week! (Update: It's Live Now!)

What's the consensus on how long it takes to know how well reality holds up against the honeymoon joy?

I think there is a difference between honeymoon joy and initial observations. Everything right now is just initial observations. It will be a few days before accurate real results can be determined.

I plan to leave mine off charger tonight to see how standby does.

Well, initial observations are "smooth as butter"--that's an interface observation, not one of usability.

By the way, greenify has an aggressive doze mode for non-rooted MM devices.. Will test out more tomorrow but my initial findings were pretty darn good... 5 hours, 15 percent battery used and 45 minutes of SOT.

I'm still getting I have the latest version going through LG Bridge when I don't have the latest version?

No OTA here yet. LG Bridge won't work on my computer for whatever reason, so I have to wait.

Same thing here, It just won't detect the phone. Computer installed the drivers and everything. The program tries to find the phone when plugged in but it just times out. Tried different cables and USB ports. Guess I have to wait for OTA.

Mine is giving me a .dll error and won't even run (Windows 10). I went to fix it and my computer says I already have it. So whatever. I'll just wait on it.

Updated yesterday via Bridge. Obviously haven't used it long but battery life initially seems fairly good. Though to be honest I almost always got 4hrs SOT with it before. So I wasn't complaining about batt life. FWIW, I did a reset after the update.

Bridge here too. Took less than a half hour. All I did was wipe cache. I'll report more as I use it more.

Re: MM downloading, Tmobile

Battery life is worse, so far. I cleared the cache partition after the update, as I always do, but that didn't help. I also removed the battery, which also didn't help. I may have to do a factory reset...the first time on any phone is a few years. But I'll check first to see what's draining the battery most. Everything else is smooth as silk, especially the fingerprint scanner.

It might take a few days for the battery to smooth out again as it learns the management

So far so good as far as battery life goes.

Over 22 hours up time, 4h45m SOT, 20% left.

First full battery cycle after update.

I'll probably run it down to 5% before switching batteries to see what I end up with.

First day with MM and battery as expected lasts shorter though I'll give it a week before doing any real measurements as we already know phones are always wonky with every new update.

Fingerprint sensor works lightning fast now and only fails when I'm trying to scan the side of my fingertip, with and without a case. It also now takes me less than 5-10 seconds to add a fingerprint with ease.

Second screen with main display on works as usual but performs much better with main display off now: scrolling through takes less time and effort pre-update. Brightness levels have improved for it and it automatically dims and otherwise when needed. Also like the fade it does when you turn the phone off.

Games perform much better than previously (Asphalt 8 is the only game I have that tends to have dropped frames after a few races but performance is now constant) and the YouTube issues with slow choppy animations and crap performance on 60fps and 1440p video locking up are now gone.

WiFi issues are gone for me, which means I don't have to eject my sdcard to keep a stable WiFi connection and then restart it then remount card to use it again.

Mini Mode now works 100% of the time and doesn't leave the phone a bit disfigured in terms of touch (mini mode would activate but the screen itself won't update to mini mode so the main display is still up and touchscreen presses become inaccurate due to the actual screen real estate now smaller and movable).

ESS DAC now nearly works on every music player I try as well as YouTube, which I find redundant but eh. Poweramp works too though only the 702 alpha build and the player only detects the stock Snapdragon 24-bit DAC and thus must rely on the dev making sure to support it.

Either way, it's only been my first day with the update and I'm sure I'll likely find kinks in the system. I'll update if/when I find any more potential issues.
