I'm in love with alpha 14. Clean install, restored all my apps, and it is faster than previous alphas. I think the switch to the linaro build was a good move.

Processor still seems to get bogged down now and then when it's trying to do several things at once (mostly when playing music), but honestly, the linaro build even comes back quicker from processor lag than previous builds. It's noticeable.

Edit: Huh. I set CPU speeds to 320/787, ondemand, and even though no major app processes were running, my CPU frequency hung up at 787. It'll un-hang and go back to normal if I go into Performance settings, change the min and the max a few times, then set back to the values I want. I'm going to switch from a Live Wallpaper to a standard one and see if it happens again, but I really think it was triggered by trying to run Apollo and Facebook and start a new sync all at the same time. FYI.

I got the bog down this morning on alpha 13 after it was on the charger last night. I was trying to get into TiBu and that is all. Tried a few things including airplane mode and changing cpu max/min. Nothing helped. Did a reboot and it came up again and bogged down immediately. Wanted a logcat but no time.

Did a nand back to thekraven cm7 and went to work (that is an awesome build, still).
Flashing the Linaro optimized alpha 14 now. hehehe

This is gonna sound stupid, but how do you become a tester? and alpha 14 already?

thekraven picks his testers, asking does not help. I suspect it is the feedback we gave him on builds.

We are thinking on the same logic here. I plan to change from ondemand to SmartassV2 to test as well. I need to go through the governors and give them each a four hour test to see.

uh oh, gotta go, the "updating android" just exited and I have to play, uh, test.......

I've found that the only governor that doesn't have any lag is the on demand governed. Granted, I haven't used the performance governor, but coupling the ondemand governor with disabling the surface dithering, everything is super smooth.

I've had a few random reboots when switching between themes while testing them but I'm assuming that's just because it confuses the system redirecting things a million times.

Also I think I'm on A9 so I'm not exactly sure how relevant anything I said is to anyone here.

I feel the exact same way. It's very very snappy. Even S-Voice which is normally laggy (noticible yet not that bad) on my phone is working great

This is a frikin' rocket! Tried Apollo and Facebook, no slowdown. Facebook has been my annoyance, both the FB app and Friendcaster Pro. Slow screen draws and laggy. They are also the biggest in size. FB flies now. Flies. Damn. Hot damn.

Just as I may have been actually able to contribute... dammit.

He pulled in Linaro after he "stopped", parting gifts. I think he is having fun again, without the hassles, just feeding a few trusted members. I'm honored. I feel like the zoom zoom kid on the Mazda commercial.

The Linaro toolchain definitely improved performance. Pulled it off the charger today and the speed is just incredible. Opened up feedly instantly when I selected it, app drawer was faster. Have yet to open Facebook though.
