Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Let me explain something to everyone.

When you guys go in and ask about release dates for devices, We are NOT aloud to tell you anything until Verizon officially announces it. I know it sounds stupid, but this is how things work. If we tell you a date in the store and for some reason the phone get delayed, that makes us look bad. Im bother my manager everyday on info and release dates and until a few days ago it was i don't know. Finally i have an answer and i figured i would share.

Hey Joe i think your being truthful and im hoping the 28th is true. But don't diss phil like that. He's a good guy and always post valid info. What if the 28th comes and goes and no TB? Are you an idiot?

Pretty sure Phil knew what he was talking about when he told us the 24th was the Thunderbolt date. But once it again another band of theives tried to steal phones from the trucks as they were being delivered.

Taking a picture of a dummy unit is useless, as we've all seen pictures of people with dummy units. from last week, and maybe a bit earlier even. So we're no further along on finding out when the release date is. Because guess what, its just as likely the date will be pushed back from the supposed 28th you've told us.

That is true. My mobile coworker was told the 28th. But they were also told the 14th and the 21st. Which is why stories like that are taken lightly.

Well, This phil posts a date and now he is wrong, That made everyone go from yay to i hate verizon/tbolt. So either he was right and the tbolt got delayed or he trusted the wrong source. I'd love for him to post and give an explanation.

This is getting stupid. Phil was wrong, whether it was his fault or not. His source told him the 24th, and he relayed it. Why does that make him a bad person? He got information that was probably originally correct, and got delayed.

Joe is trying to help. Why can't you guys embrace the fact that he's trying to help us, and just accept that the 28th is the next reasonable date that we've all been hearing.

Seriously, everyone needs to chill out for a second. Although calling Phil an idiot may have been a bit far; gotta be on that side as far as insults are concerned.

if telling people a wrong date makes people look bad, then verizon has themselves looking pretty bad from all the things chat reps and sales reps have told people in VZW stores and on the website.

Ok, i didn't mean to attack phil and i didn't know he has a good reputation. So i apologize for that, But the 24th was never a date vzw had in mind. The Motorola Xoom was for that date. VZW would NEVER release 2 HUGE devices on the same day.

You mean Best buy reps, they are indirect. They don't work for us, they just sell our stuff. Verizon never came out and said a date. All they said was February and coming soon.

Best buy reps, as well as reps from in verizon stores according to many of the stories on here. They usually go

"So I went to my local verizon store and asked about the thunderbolt, and they told me it was coming out the *insert date here*"

and there are tons of chat logs with VZW online support where people ask, and they've told people the 14th, 24th, and my favorites "sometime in 2011" and "that phone isn't coming out till June"

Hey, HTC made some pretty big site changes regarding the Thunderbolt. If you guys haven't been paying attention to that thread. Joe may be on to something with this 24th->28th thing..
