Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

I work in search marketing and things aren't really scheduled like that. Usually you have it all set to go in advance and then wait for the client to give a green light.

But you are right, with all the rest they have f'ed up about this we probably shouldn't read into anything.

on a monday? interesting. i mean it would keep the old version of the lightning strikes commercial's promise of "february" but that was before they changed it to "coming soon" so who knows. all we can do is wait and see at this point. a close friend of mine at verizon got to mess with the thunderbolt last week during some htc meeting. she said she's thinking it'll be here the 3rd based on what they told her.
there's too much speculation. but if you are right, well then thank you good sir! i'd love to have my TB in a few days.

For what it's worth, when at Verizon today (for an unrelated phone plan question) while talking about my upgrade, the rep said "if you want to wait for the Thunderbolt it'll be out before the end of the month". Honestly though, whatever issue is going on with the phone, I don't really expect anythign until March or even April.

Please let us know what you hear. I agree that there is little point to a pre-order with Best Buy Mobile and the free Buy Back program if the ThunderBolt does not come out before or on the 28th.

Just got off the phone with the manager (I don't think it was the store manager, maybe the mobile phone manager) and this is what came of it:

- He heard today from the 'regional division' (think that's what he referred to it as) that the phone will be arriving on Sunday 2/27 for sale on 2/27 or 2/28
- RE: $299. He said he does not believe any 3rd party sites and that he won't know the price of the phone until he gets it. However he said if I preordered it for $249, he would honor that price. I then told him that BB.com had the phone for both prices earlier this week and that I saw a scan of the new BB ad for next week and he continued to reiterate "I won't know the price of the phone until I get it although I don't believe it will go up."
- RE: Free Buy Back. If the phone is not available by Monday the 28th (the last day of the free buy back program), he will not be able to give it to me for free. I can either buy the program for $60 OR I can buy their insurance through the geek squad and they'll give it to me for $30.

Misinformation deserves to be flamed. It's obviously not coming out on Monday. The last HTC phone on Verizon got a release date 15 days before it went on sale.

Nobody DESERVES to be flamed. It's definitely ok to disagree and present arguments to the contrary. But a large % of the posts in this thread are straight flame posts.

Everybody wants this phone to be released. Trust me. As has been stated in numerous threads it'll be out when it's ready. And hopefully it'll be bug free.

so i just got back from BEST BUY and i spoke to the Verizon rep there and he told me the thunderbolt is 100 % sure coming out on the 28th. i told him that i heard it was pushed to march and he said those are rumors and he knows for a fact itll be here on monday and told me to pre order it today.

i am still skeptical but he seemed pretty damn sure. hope hes right.

Regardless of whether this phone launches in February, March, or later, I'm walking out of Best Buy with a Thunderbolt for $250 or I'm walking out in cuffs. Period. The "launch ad" said $249... their screw up is not my problem. As a matter of fact, I think I'll go in Saturday and ask for a rain check.
