Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

I think the person im most angry about is the chick in the commercial. How dare you give me false hope? You tantalize me with your countdown as if the TB is coming only to slap me in the face with a lightning bolt of lies! You are a monster who does not deserve to live. If i ever find the identify of that woman, who was so cowardly that she decided to hide her face, i will make sure to inflict her with the most pain that a sober man has ever inflicted on a woman. And that's not a threat, IT'S A PROMISE!

What's funny is that this guy and that guy and all these blogger sites are all spitting out the 24th... yet, VZ hasn't said the 24th yet. Better yet, they haven't said **** about anything Thunderbolt!

This is just another rumor to add into the TB blender, again, until Verizon sends out an official press release.

IMO, this is getting old, very very fast. I'm not saying it won't happen on the 24th but it is a hella good way to drive traffic to your website which drive up those google ad numbers!

I saw a post earlier of a tweet by mobile panda which said that the Thunderbolt just passed LTE network tests. I'm trying to find in which forum/thread I saw it in.

"black_man_x The Mobile Panda
@evilping8020 there were fails on all sides.. testing takes time and it shld have launched in march.. so 24th is much sooner.."

I trust in the panda. But yeah, if Verizon doesn't actually announce it they can bump this release date again if they feel like it.

Sorry for the double post, but here's the tweet you're looking for I think.

@droid_life hence the reason we never give long term release dates for new products. LTE handoff issues JUST got corrected.."

Yup. That's the one, thanks.

i bet we don't hear "official" word until next week. They will want to get through their 1st weekend of iphone sales before annoucing another new phone IMO

What I am saying is I paid $50 for my Fascinate thru BB.
If I return phone for another Fascinate BEFORE the 16 do I get another 30 days and if YES then can I get the TBOLT for $249 or would I have to pay the full retail price?

Thanks

Don't forget about the restocking fee

Debating to upgrade or not...

I'm a current Droid X owner and I'm in an LTE city (Cincinnati). I'm very pleased with my X and I've owned it since launch day last year. I'm struggling with whether or not I should spring for the TB or not. The longer I wait, and the more new phones come out, the less I'll probably get for my X when I sell it on Ebay or through some other avenue. Anyone else considering paying full retail for the TB? Would the reported 4G speeds alone lure you to make the switch (assuming the data plan pricing remains the same as 3G)? Or are you planning on waiting a few weeks after it releases to see how performance/battery life/4G speeds, etc. pan out before you trade up? I think I could get $350 to $400 for my X and all my accessories, so I really wouldn't be paying anything different than if I was a new customer or eligible for an upgrade after I see the X. Decisions decisions...

Phil!!!

Great work Phil! I am not getting the Thunderbolt as I am Sprint EVO user but your work here at Android Central is terrific!!!

Great coverage and a cool calm perspective on the Echo presser this week and your pinch hitting at PreCentral yesterday on the HP WebOS announcements was awesome! You sir are the definition of a Team Player! Now that Android Central is getting national press (Howard Stern!) Dieter should give you a raise!!! Seriously Great job!

Edit: Moderator please move to the appropriate forum... sorry!

I'll say this, if there is no LTE in your city, i would wait for the DX2. I heard it is going to be awesome. There is not confirmation if it has a FFC yet. Only reason im springing for the TB now is because it has 4g(available in my city), FFC, and large screen.

lets not forget those of the Verizon customers were able to get the iPhone a few days ago which would leave them out of the ThunderBolt running if the 24th date is the real deal. It wouldn't hurt the ones that jumped ship from AT&T to get it on Verizon only to find out there iPhone is still just as crappy as it was on AT&T just only difference being, you could actually make a call.
