Your guess is as good as ours. There are a dozen different scenario's being speculated...seems to be the most prevalent is because of the iPhone launch, but again that's all based on speculation and hearsay.

I would agree, it's all about iPhone. If you try to upgrade on vzw site, every page they want you to upgrade to iPhone. LOL.

I tried this last night it worked, of course i didn't go through the whole upgrade, i just wanted to make sure my NE2 credit was still there. Will try later today and post it what i find.

And will continue to be that way for some time. Several reports have esitmated around 900,000 already sold, mostly from the early selling. It's makign them money, when you have a money train you ride until the end. Will never get that attention on a Android device, that is the simple fact.

bgr.com just came out with a report statng that verizon is actual not selling as many iphones as they thought

This is funny. I did chat with a rep today using the chat service. I was told the Thunderbolt was released on the 14th. I said really I can not order it online or in my local store. She said she would send me a link. I waited then she can back and said the date was pushed back and she was sorry. I said what was the new date and then she was gone. I called my Verzion rep and he said she was crazy. I was hoping something happened that I missed. It made me laugh because I realized they really have no clue. My rep said the original date he got was the 21st and has not heard anything different other that rumors.

I just got a text from verizon that says i'm eligible for an upgrade on 2yr contract pricing. Good to hear since my contract ends in May

Just stopped at my local VZW corporate store and asked the two greater if the Thunderbolt was still a secret or did we have a date. The replied "The 24th" in unison FWIW

Huh. I don't blame them, but apparently they had a pretty hardcore and swift change of heart since they've been trying to get it back for, what, 3 1/2 maybe 4 years? lol

I think Verizon is scrambling to get this thing out there before the Atrix drops March 4, which could explain why everything is so fubar in regards to this phone's release

As blackmanx said, the TB was supposed to be released mid-March, but has been moved up to February - I suspect it is because of the Atrix. They HAVE to beat that phone to the market

That's what I've heard as well. Verizon wanted more control of the iPhone and Apple wasn't going to have it, so Verizon said forget it.

Last night during my returning of the ipoop I thought I had to get to make the wait shorter for the TBOLT. I told the rep, so what's going on the 24th of February. He was very quit for a bit.... I than asked if there was a storm suppose to arrive that day. He snickered and asked if it was a lightning rain storm? The manager standing right next to this rep also chuckled. I said to them, the 24th it is. I will see you both in the morning of the 24th to get my TBOLT.

I tend to think this isn't their fault though. They can only pass on what they're given or able to say so in all fairness - it may be a fact that you can't believe them but it's not their fault. They're only protecting their jobs by following the rules.
