Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

I've been following some of the threads here as I'm also waiting for this phone. I had to return a Fascinate or end up keeping it so I returned it and bought a very used Envy on Craigslist to use until I can get the tbolt. It is super beat up but it functions and it was cheap.

Whatever the delays it seems that Verizon doesn't want to disclose anything at this point until they are absolutely SURE that they will have product available, and that makes a lot of sense. Its their first LTE device and they need this to run smoothly. I have seen posts calling for Verizon to releast it even if it still has bugs and that is the most stupid thing I could think of them doing. There would be a ton more threads screaming about quality, screaming about releasing a buggy phone etc., and blogs about how bad the Tbolt is. That is what they want and need to avoid.

I'm super anxious for this phone to be released but I'll wait until its ready and they are sure that they will be able to supply them on the (eventually) announced date.

I understand frustration but it has risen to craziness levels in some of these threads. Too many so-called adults throwing childish tantrums over a phone.

From everything that I've seen in the last few days it looks like this next week is looking good for a release. I hope so as this LG Envy is making me nuts and I'm in severe data withdrawal but I would rather have a good phone in a week or two than a buggy mess right now.

I agree. What did these people do before cell phones? I am by no means a verizon fanboy, but at the moment we are talking 1 week past the rumored release date. A month down the road I would expect to see more anger, but still, it is just a phone.

This does not look good. When asked when will 4G phones be out, VZW tweets:
@ItsSeitz by mid-2011 w/ some available as early as March 2011

Well that's just awesome. I ordered my Phantom full body Skinz last night and a case to be here by the 24. yay

Man Verizon, it shouldn't be this hard to keep a schedule. They had all the time in the world during that damn iphone pre-order nonsense to get this thing ready to ship out. It's been done for a few weeks, passed FCC, and most of the things we've heard delayed as far as apps and software have been taken care of

How do we know that?

How do we know when that special is. And on ESPN sounds weird. But though I would share anyway.

hahahahahahahahahaha
tbolt needs to take its talent to a 24th release date:p

So I just called Verizon to inquire about voice/data/text rates while I'm in Canada this weekend and I threw out the old "heard anything on a bolt release date?". He proceeded to tell me it is now March due to the iPhone craze. Hopefully yet another CSR that doesn't know what they're talking about when it comes to the TB.... hopefully.

I agree that it looks legit. The only thing that i'm thinking is, a purchase order can be made for whatever you want but an invoice would be more be proof.

Any VZW store can make a PO but never submit it.

I'm not saying that it's not real, just sayin'

I agree.

A PO can be submitted at any time with a requested delivery date but that certainly doesn't mean it will arrive on the requested date.

An invoice for the goods would be much better proof, which most likely would be printed and mailed as soon as the devices ship. It would probably arrive before the devices do.

just spit my coke on my screen when i read that.

Right. And since Panda can't comment on it, that further solidifies it in my mind. He's blasted vendors before so I don't think it's HTCs fault here.

Oh, and since he specifically said the word "delay", that means it was planned for earlier. Meaning Best Buy, Amazon, etc. were most likely given 2/14 then had the rug pulled out and were left to clean the mess. And eveyone on here that is aggravated, is justified. /.02 :P

yeah doesn't sound good. saw his tweets this morning.

I agree to an extent, everyone who is aggravated has reason to be, although not to the extent some people have gone. The main reason behind my frustration is not that i'm just dying to get the Bolt, although I do want it really bad. They are pushing this thing further and further back and it almost makes sense to wait and see what is on the horizon for the second half of the year, especially with the quad core mobile processors we saw at MWC. Things are about to get interesting in mobile technology and the Bolt, while a very nice device, sounds to me like it is going to be overshadowed very soon as will the Bionic, Atrix, etc. After waiting this long, I might just wait 4-6 more weeks and get the Bionic.
