Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Just got off the phone with the owner of a local VZW store (a "Premium Retailer"). I had been in a few days ago to ask about this phone, and left my phone # and email with him. He called and emailed me to say he'd have them available for sale on 2/28, and that he'd ring me when I could pick one up at the store.

Given all the false starts so far, grain of salt, but something solid nonetheless.

At this time anything other than an official statement from VZW will have to be taken with a grain of salt ....and maybe a slice of lemon ..& tequila

He has been giving multiple release dates since November I believe all of which have been wrong. But I have heard he has been rite with alot of other stuff (other release dates and what not) in the past.

Yeah he just seems to be posting what is kind of already been leaked/known.

posted this on another forum and thought I'd share here too.

I know we all heard something or "have a guy". I wanted so share what I heard from a buddy that has some privileged info.

The Tbolt is def. pushed back until sometime in March. Last word he heard was that 1-2 weeks back from 2/28. The issue was that provisioning and billing of the service has not been worked out yet.

As nothing is confirmed I wanted to share what I heard. Soooo Im not getting my hopes up until 2nd week of March.

Even more fuel for my iPhone conspiracy theory. Whatever the real reason is, I prefer to believe the pressure from iPhone. By the end of the second week of March, all the first wave iPhone buyers will be totalled locked into their 2-year contract, make it safe for Jobs Corp to let Verizon release its LTE phones.

That is epic.

Yes I can see them concerned about everyone Skyping and bogging down the network....probably should add some kind of charge to this....Oh snap, Skype doesn't work!

That's why I said "grain of salt"...

If this were any other, boring old phone release, I'd say take it as gospel. But this is Thunderdrama, where nothing is as it seems.

ah gotcha though grain of salt and solid seem to contradict each other lol

I believe its totally network related and thats what i'm gonna stick with in my mind....from reading and just by trying to piece this all together that is what makes the most sense.

But we probably will never know the truth, so grab onto something and make that your reason ;)

Besides, a couple of the Atrix users are not getting good speeds on there 4G network. I was getting a good laugh when I popped over there for a second! One was .36

My coworker's wife works at VZW corporate in Irvine, CA and she mentioned that HTC showed up at their offices today with the In&Out burger truck and the New ThunderBolt to show all the employees.
Gotta be a good sign, right?

Nope. It just means that HTC is trying to keep the momentum going while VZW tries to fix it's network mess.

XOOM LTE capability is just a software update, and will be available on launch day. No word on Flash.

Who is V3rdict?

Doesnt anyone find it odd, that if in fact, the phone was going to be available, then Verizon, as the phone's carrier would have done a pre-order like Best Buy did? Man, did they hang Best Buy out to dry on this one...Best Buy should have contacted all that pre-ordered when they were notified that the phone would be delayed and offered to return their deposits...not in the form of Best Buy Gift Cards...but the way they were paid for...with cash.....Period...End of story...

That guy has NO idea what he's talking about. the Xoom doesn't even HAVE AN LTE RADIO!!! It has a 3G EVDO-A radio, and that's it.

No No

:(
Can't say how I know, but I was just given 'firm' dates for VZW upcoming launches. I know that given all the dates flying around, people are skeptical...come the 21st, though, the truth of all things shall be known.

HTC Thunderbolt- 2/21
Moto Xoom- 2/24
Samsung LTE Hotspot: 3/3

Here's hoping.

Well no go like always:mad:

Hah shucks. Can't say I know much about the Xoom so I was hoping that'd clear up the TBolt LTE issues if the Xoom was launching with LTE on Thursday.
