Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

A coworker showed up at work with an ATT Inspire today.
While it's not the Thunderbolt, it is very close in specs and size/feel.
I was impressed with the solid construction of the phone and the speed from app to app. I think ATT saw her coming, she can barely use a computer...but good for her. Can't wait for the bolt...

Sunday circular

Yup that yesterday Sunday... as in the day that the ad goes in to effect, there not talking about the TBolt.... sorry to burst your bubble.

I wasn't clear on that, sorry. In yesterday's circulars Best Buy ran an ad for the Thunderbolt for 299.99 and regularly priced at 749.99. My bubble was burst when I started seeing the pricing for the Xoom and figured all of these 4g LTE devices would be expensive. My upgrade comes around in November so we'll see, I'm not in a rush. I just wanted to share the flyer with those who hadn't seen it yet. Its the first documented pricing I've seen so far. Happy waiting all..

i'm def not saying it's the 10th it might as well be the 31st at this point but i'm not convinced iPad 2 would really delay the TB release there completely different devices a tablet is not a replacement or in competition with a phone

Okay, this being the "waiting room", I'm going to vent my frustrations. If anyone reads this useless whining, consider it the old-magazine-you-never-read-except-in-the-doctor's-waiting-room magazine of this waiting room.

While the bitter "screw Verizon and the Tbolt" backlash seems irrational, I can relate. I have (cue sad violin music) a BB Pearl that is so old the trackball long ago bit the bullet, and only works in one direction -- and not even reliably in that one. Because of living abroad the past two years and budget reasons, I had suppressed my desire for a new phone-y gadget.

In January I decided I had waited long enough, and started researching. Seriously, the Pearl lived a full life -- it is the only humane choice to put it down. After browsing, I decided that the Tbolt sounded like a fantastic new start -- if I was going to start with Android, I should go with the latest and greatest possible.

I can be patient. I can control my urge to buy something new and shiny. But then when I decide I want it, I want it now! I have awaited product releases before. It always sucks to wait. But I really can't remember a wait for one that seemed so doomed. They'll advertise, they'll take pre-orders, but they won't commit. I read these posts and get my hopes up, only to have them dashed as the next rumored date passes. It's pathetic, I know, but I need a new ******* phone! I'm done being patient. I search for alternatives, but nothing is just right. And then the sad sense that even the Tbolt will be a disappointment sets in -- it will be overpriced ($300 AND a 2-year-contract?), it will have crap battery life, I'll pay for LTE I can't get, etc.

So I'm at a dead end. My hunch -- that the delay is due to Verizon's decision process on an LTE rate structure -- leads me to believe that between the eventual data rates and Tbolt price, sometime in April when I can get one, I'll wish I had gotten an Atrix in February. Yet somehow, I still haven't ordered that Atrix, and I'm back here looking for hope. Sigh.

I'm going into a vzw store and go to the back room and get my TB.Before i leave i'm going to grab a iphone throw it on the floor and stomp on it.lol JOKE!!!! I will wait. If anyone else feels the same i got your back. we can do it together. :-).. TB fan out for blood!!!!

I feel you! I was being a patient good boy till Feb 14. Then till 14... got a little edgy after 28th!! And now I am totally insane!!!

This may have already been mentioned by someone else here, but I just realized this tonight. Has anyone else noticed the date on the Thunderbolt in the commercial with the remote control helicopter? It shows it at the beginning and end of the commercial. From what I could tell, as well as others who have seen it, it shows "Wed Mar 16th". I found it interesting anyway.

Yea, I saw that and I posted it as well, Wed. Mar 16th is what the phone read on that commercial. Weird date for Verizon, used to say Feb 14th too, oh well...we'll see
