People give Blackberry so much crap, and in my opinion, Blackberry doesn't get credit where it is due. Coming from a Blackberry user and a student at MIT, I have been wanting to upgrade to Android for a while now because of the power that is being put into Android processors these days along with upgraded hardware. The only thing that has stopped me from doing so is that my Blackberry does everything I need it to do. It is so reliable and though it doesn't have flashy software or hardware that your Androids and iPhones have, Blackberry devices do what they are supposed to do, and they do it well and with ease. I have been eligible for an upgrade for quite sometime now and still can't find it in me to get rid of my Blackberry.

I have to agree...LOVE, LOVE my Galaxy Tab, now thinking of going with Android phone. But the BB, though not as flashy, nor as many apps, it DOES do everything I need it too. Was in line of business recently that a BB was essential. But even now, can't think of anything better to keep me organized, buuut I love Android now. Should I stick with BB or try an Android phone ?

I had the BlackBerry Tour before getting the Thunderbolt. I can't say I miss my BB. I still get emails just as quickly on my TB, a ton of more apps, much faster processor, faster browser, and more memory. I really loved my BB, but the only thing I really really do with it was call, text/email, and check Twitter/Facebook. I can do so much more with my TB, maybe the battery doesn't last as long, mainly because I can do more things, but I don't miss my BB at all.

Do you use exchange webmail for work? If so, any problems setting it up?

Yep. Exchange webmail. No real issues getting it up and running. As WebDevAnalyst said, you have to use Manual Setup.

Alternately, I mentioned Touchdown which also handles the whole gamut for Exchange Webmail.

Well things have changed in my location (Cincinnati) the network seems to work now. I have done several things so I don't which one if any made a difference. It could have been the VZ network. In another post there was someone who mentioned the modem used for 3G on the TB is different then 3G rev a. It may be VZ has resolved the network issue here since I am running the standard setup and things work great. If this is a permanent fix, then I will keep the TB.

I'm definitely keeping mine. Coming from WinMo, it's a world's difference in the overall satisfying experience. The learning curve is minimal and ease of use is completely user specific, which in my case, is very high.
I certainly respect the OP's need for not having to tweak things. For him, I would recommend WebOS (which I LOVE!) or iOS (which is ultimate the benchmark of idiot-proof ease-of-use, no offense intended). I got the Thunderbolt not just for what it wants to offer me, but its underlying, unfulfilled potential, whatever it might end up being. So there, I'm definitely keeping my ThunderBolt.

I have been one of the people anxiously awaiting this phone and it hasnt disappointed.

Love the 4G speed of light downloading
quality of pictures/video
extremely fast websurfing
Pandora doesnt force close or lag anymore

Battery life is no better/worse than my fascinate.

I actually ran a race yesterday with the phone in my running pack (it fit, who says it is too big or heavy?)

Plus now that I am without a computer for a week it is helpful to have as a backup

I'm keeping mine because it's the best damn smartPHONE I've ever used. I've had cellphones/smartphones since the 90's and I'll be damned if this thing isn't the clearest I've ever used. People hear me great and I hear them great... every time!

Sure battery life could be better but the reality for me is that I use my Xoom much more often now and my smartphone has taken a backseat to the tablet. This helps with the battery life and my smartphone has become my PHONE again.

I'm actually in a very happy place right now after quite a long time of looking for just the right mobile solution.

For me, the ThunderBolt+Xoom is as close to perfect as I've found so far.

I think this is the best part about this phone. Phones have been getting closer to being computer substitutes and even though they'll never get there completely, this has been the closest any of my phones have ever come.

Sent from my Thunderbolt

Im definitely keeping the phone. I have a one year contract so im primed to be ready for the next big thing a year from now. being locked into unlimited 4g is also a selling point. Since im not really into Motorola's (had a bad experiance with 5 droid x's) the Bionic is not really something im interested in. The HTCs are great phones and the new sense rocks. The phone is plenty fast. Yep... its MINE!

I have over a week left to return mine, but I am going to keep it. I am getting decent battery life and the LTE speeds are awsome. I would rather have 4G speeds now instead of waiting until later, plus I bought the Thunderbolt on a 1 year contract(Got it for $229.99-Gotta love the employer discounts) so i can upgrade in 10 months.

definitely keeping it. I was also wondering how my emails were going to be like coming over from a bb, but i can say that i am more than satisfied. and while battery was an issue at first, i can safely say that it is not. I'm still getting an extended battery though, just in case, but I wont likely need it.

Unfortunately returned mine last week, I could not handle the battery life even after jumping through all the hoops to cripple the phone.
I loved 4G speeds but I guess I will have to wait until they can make a 4G android phone that can last more than 5 hours...

For the people who got their Thunderbolt's on the first day, the 14 day return clock in winding down.... and for any one else that bought one as well.....

Who is going to keep their TB and who is not?

I really, really wanted this to be a great phone "for me."

But I don't like the battery life, even though it's better now with bumping and tweaking.

I don't like the way the contacts are displayed and searched.
I don't like the way the calendar is displayed and searched.
I don't like the way the email is displayed and searched.
i don't like the way the text is displayed and searched.

It all has a look and feel of apps that were put together from a generic app building program by engineers. Light on style and ease of use. Much like a lot of the other cheap looking apps in the app stores.

The TB has a huge screen, but they didn't make the best visual or practical use of that size in their graphic design and layout of the calendar, contacts, email and text. Apple and R.I.M (OS5 - never tired OS6) both did a better job AND with SMALLER screens. You may disagree, but I am coming from a 33 year career in graphics and illustration, so maybe I look at things a little differently.

Sure, I can get used to it if I keep the phone - but I had high hopes, maybe too high, for my Blackberry replacement.

There is a lot to like about this phone, but also some disappointments on both the aesthetics and practical use.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.
I had crazy times with this phone but my experience basically has to do with learning how to use something beside the iphone4 and the process is getting so much better, I love TB. I will be keeping my phone:)
