ok, I have been following and reading this thread from the start. I liked the idea of the original post, and have tried the method a few times (Charging w/power ON til Green 100%, then power off, charge til Green, then power on). I thought I would give the phone some time and wait until I have used it for a couple weeks (got it at launch), before chiming in.
Well something odd happened and I feel compelled to share it. Here it goes:
Wednesday I charged as mentioned above, unplugged it and stuck it in my pocket, then headed out to pick up my dog from getting a bath (at least 15min away). When I got there I looked at my phone to check the time and peak at Batt. usage... 100%. wow Eh? So, I go in get my dog, put her in my car, start the trip back....its gotta be at least 98% right?? Nope still 100%! About 10min into the drive back, I check while at a stop light, STILL 100%.... convinced its a glitch or hasn't updated Batt. data yet, so I check the stock HTC Battery Widget, 100% status: not charging. wow 100% at about 35min after unplugging from charger. Once I got home, I was convinced with all my Batt. checks it had to be at least in the 90's%. Yup, you see where i am going.... Still 100%.... eventually, I would say 20-30min later, it bumped down to 98%, after I kinda got scared that my Batt. was malfunctioning and used it heavily while at a buddy's house. it was about 1hr+ with my Battery reading 100%.....
This was with no Battery precautions taken. I had GPS on, Data Network on, 3G on, Notifications....
So needless to say, I am started to lean towards those people who agree the Battery is performing as expected.... after all, its a smart PHONE, not a smart BATTERY, right??
