Unlimited Data is back

Can I mix grandfathered UDP (my wife phone) with a new unlimited plan for myself so she keeps her own grandfathered plan while I get this one? We are on the same bill.

New plan

Anyone know if that 160.00. Price from Verizon is complete or do you still have to pay the access charge per line.

Re: New plan

The listed prices include data and line access. It does not include taxes, etc.

The easiest way to think about it is each line is $20 per line + data = $65 for one line, $110 for 2 lines, $105 for 3 lines and $100 for 4 or more lines. Taxes and whatnot vary by state and are going to run $2-5 per line in most states.

Until you hit 22g for the month.

Yeah, that's not going to happen to me. I'm not a hog. I am willing to pay for internet at home and have little to no interest in streaming video on my phone. Nearly 75GB of music on my phone, so no need to stream that, either.

Even if you did -- it would still only happen in congestion so it really isn't as horrid as people are thinking. Some are thinking of the "hard" caps back in the day where they said "Once you use over X amount you're slowed 100% of the time the rest of the cycle" -- This 22 GB isn't that hard cap.

Before phone costs this seems like it would be good for me. As I stated earlier, Sprint is quite good where I live and usually work, but have had issues when I travel for work.

Currently I pay $69.99 + $10 premium add-on (gotta love that holdover) and taxes with a 15% off discount from the $69.99 which comes out to 69.49 before taxes. Currently I am still on 2 year subsidized phones which if I switched would obviously change.

With Verizon. $60 data plan with $20 account access fee, have heard and read that military/veteran discount is the only one that is eligible for the Unlimited plan, so if true would be 15% off the $60 which would put me at $71 + taxes. Then add in cost of phone.

Gives me better coverage while travelling for work, gives me 10GB hotspot vs my none.

Overall seems like a pretty good option to me, though if I switch having to pay the ETF to Sprint won't be fun.

Verizon is bringing unlimited data back tomorrow February 13th. It's $80 per month for a single line and $45 for each additional line. Throttling may occur after 22GB but isn't a guarantee to happen. I am not sure if that's $80 plus $20 for the line or $80 for everything. Corporate speak is difficult to figure out at times.

Edit: Based on Verizon current pricing, I believe it may be $80 + $20 Line Access = $100 per month. I can't confirm though. Their advertising is unclear.
Since I'm already a verizon customer, can I jump to this plan and just keep my old phones? Also, how long is this plan good for? They're not going to say this is good for 1 year?

Technically they could change the price when they want but assuming they go on what carriers normally do -- they will allow those who got it early to keep the pricing.

You should be able to swap your current plan but going into your account.

I'm a current customer and called them up and switched this morning.

The 10GB tether makes the new plan not a good deal because you can't do anything on 3G.

I used to do a ton on 3G. I would think you will still have a decent experience unless you're trying to stream UHD videos or something.

That explains all your battery woes! Just kidding, but it's just as weird.

I was going to switch but currently it's more expensive than what I've got and we usually have 13 or more gb left every month in rollover data. I'll probably stay put for now.

Lol, I thought Big Red executives were saying you don't need unlimited data? Verizon customers that will switch to the unlimited plan can give a big thank you to Sprint and T-mobile for standing pat on unlimited data plans and for causing Verizon pull this plan out of their rosy bottom cheeks. Hopefully, this plan sticks and is not just a limited time promo. Win for the customers!

In my defense, only the 2 M8's with failed USB ports were mine. All the others with sealed batteries belonged to my wife, and she is on Wi-Fi 99% of the time. Lol

$40 line access is brutal...the result of a $1 Moto Z @ BB. And what's with the 'introductory' part of the pricing? I'm good as-is, thanks. Bigly win if you still have $30 UDP!
