US release date could be July 12th!

technobuffalo reported this stating some will get it today Google Play's Nexus 7 Pre-Orders Shipping Tomorrow | TechnoBuffalo

That's regurgitated from the XDA Developers Forum.
If some were actually shipped yesterday, guess we'll see some pics from lucky Nexus 7 owners later today.
I placed my order on the morning of June 28, figuring mid July meant mid July, so hopefully they'll ship soon. I can wait a few more days.
As Yogi Berra once said, "It'll ship when it ships."
(OK, I made that up, but I could see Yogi saying that). :D

Quick question- I understand everything is conjecture and rumors at this point, but if I jumped on the bandwagon a little late and ordered on the 10th, is it reasonable to believe I should have the N7 by next Friday? I'm leaving on Monday to chaperone 45 9th graders on a 10 hour bus ride and NEED something to distract me.

I ordered mine on the 10th as well. I am not going to put much thought into it, untill we start seeing those that ordered on the 27th start posting that theirs has shipped.

Good luck with those kids though :-!

Mmm not sure about that. On Amazon and eBay I ger charged as soon as I place the order. With Gootia different, they clearly stated they would charge until the product was shipped. Either way, I think we won't hear anything concrete until next week.

You aren't actually charged until an item ships. Amazon puts a hold on the money but since they ship so quickly that hold becomes the charge. Do a pre-order on Amazon and you'll see. The charge goes back until the item ships. I've used free "super saver" shipping and had the money go back for a few days also. That is US law. A silly one in my opinion but it is the law. I was told it's there because companies would drag shipping out so long that it would put you past your banks dispute window.

Ebay is different as you aren't buying from ebay. You are using Paypal to send funds at your discretion to other people who have agreed to send you an item in return. You send the funds, Ebay didn't charge you. Ebay is more of a service than a store.

I hope you didn't waste your time making that. The middle is a broad range of dates from the 10th to the 20th. It's not going to ship noon on the 15th.

I'd say more like the 12-17 would be a better "middle" but what he posted is true! They said "middle of July" so EXPECTING it before the 15th is ludacris! They could have been nice and sent it out the 10th but they didn't, so now we can pretty much guess it'll be after the 15 before anyone sees theirs!

Yes, I'm aware that was in the UK. That doesn't make it ok in my book. I was not getting myself worked up about a delivery date even though my order was placed through Google Play on the 27th, but this kind of does get me a bit angry.

Oh I totally agree, its sad that they can ship um all overseas but can't ship to us here in the US! Even though they are based in Taiwan!(Asus that is)

No worries, I am at least glad to see a real packaged version get unboxed so we know what to expect as opposed to the demo units given to the journalists, etc.
