I really think it's shipping tomorrow. All forums are crazy and half of what's on them is made up. There's no conspiracy, I'm sure it's shipping tomorrow
Agreed. I'm the only person in my office that I know of excited about this release, and I work in IT! But that could also be due to the fact that I live on an island ...
Just a tad bit. Ive heard some mainstream reporting on the N7, including a mention on the WSJ This morning radio show. But Ive heard nothing about dates other than here in this thread or on AC. When Apple releases a new product, its hard for the whole world to not know about the release or the specific date. All I am saying is, while we are excited about this, it will go unnoticed in the rest of the world.
I always find it weird that Google as an advertising company is horrible at marketing same thing happened with the original galaxy nexus

I agree with you, but I dont think Google is interested in selling mass quantities. They've always sold the Nexus line as a reference/developer platform. I think its more to seed the developer community to move more overall Android devices to get more people to use more Google services. The GNex is priced pretty aggressively as is the N7, so I dont think Google's strategy is to sell a million devices, but more to spurn other development and show their vision as to what a device should/could look like.
But then again I work at a Medical Insurance Company...they are all old.
I disagree an bit because I feel nexus 7 is supposed to be an consumption device,so wouldn't they want more people to get their hands on it?

Gotta agree with you there, but arent all tablets consumption devices? I could not imagine doing any real work on a tablet besides READING (and barely responding) to emails.
You would think that google... being a major search engin.. would advertise their new device right on the google search screen. Amazon puts there fire infront of you every chance they get.
I bought mine primarily for school.
It's much cheaper to get the e-books than physical textbooks which the school will give me a whopping 5% back when i sell it.
Hoping the nexus 7 will be good for reading. from what i hear though it should be
I have a laptop and desktop for everything else no need for lots of space or a 10" screen![]()

There is a website Browse for online textbooks by subject | CourseSmart, where you rent e text books and you can view them from any computer or tablet, as well as print and make notes, among other things. There is an android and an Ipad app with them as well. I calculated the cost of used books from my last two semesters compaird to renting them there and i would have saved almost $200.
