okay, I am a glutton for punishment, called gs again, spoke with Alex, she told me something totally different than than the other guy tonight..... She said shipment is definitely starting tomorrow, but being as I order on the 6th, I might not have mine in hand till Tuesday (little better than a week) she did not know what I meant by hub, and was not sure about retailers selling before all gs preorders got to the end user.... She did state that they have a goal of delivering 10000-12000 a day, she said there are not enough trucks avaliable to do them all..... Have a feeling the refresh count on this forum for me, will look weak compared to how often I do it the next few days.... Lol its only 11 pm here in Saint Louis Missouri

Careful now! I'm a great grandmother and 71 - and have an Asus Transformer and ordered the Nexus 7 a few days ago. -

I could be wrong, but being as these are shipping tomorrow.... And those who will be pulling the trigger are in California..... At the earliest it would be 12 their time? At the latest end of business day tomorrow their time? For billing and tracking numbers not actually driver to your front door.... If that makes sense

Myself and others pre ordered right from the source. Google should have the N7 out to users before other stores or at least at the same time.

I'm going out of town on Friday for the weekend and I really wanted the Nexus to arrive so that I could work on some writing/story editing. That's the only reason I'm really itching to get my hands on this thing ASAP. I'll live if it comes next week, but the timing is just kind of unfortunate.
I'm sure I'm about to catch a fire storm for what I'm about to discuss, but was raised to voice my views even if I appear to be in the minority.
First, the mere thought that pre-ordered from Googles Play site entitles you to get your N7 before me (pre-ordered from GS) is totally ludicrus. Has no one here thought that GS is an acting agent for Google, meaning they represent Google in the same manor the Play site does. Plus my money is just as good as yours, And to think you want me to wait on you because I went to a brick & motar store is stupid.
I have been pre-ordering gadgets for the last 15 years. This is a 99 times out of 100 fact. If you pre-order from a brick and mortar store they will have it on the release date.....And you don't have to wait on some UPS guy that really doesn't care when you get you package. Or worry about it going to the wrong house.
These are my 2 cents, and I can already feel the heat......... and moan people, AND MOAN.

The issue for me is not whether you get yours first vs I do because of the choice of retailer. The issue for me rather is whether you get yours first even though I ordered mine earlier, right from the source.
I expect that I get mine before or at the same time as anyone who pre-ordered after me, regardless of who they or I ordered it from. If I order from the source and have to pay for shipping for the privilege of getting mine later than someone who ordered a week after me and effectively at lower cost, yeah, that's a problem for me.
Please correct me if I am wrong but when new mbp with retina came out people who ordered it directly from Apple day of wwdc got it after people who walked in an bb and bought it? Is the same thing happening here?

Well here is the thing, I live in a small town about 10k people and it has a GS. I did my pre-order on the 27 on June at GS. I chose not to pay shipping, That was a choice you made..Should you get yours before me because you chose to pay shipping, I think not.
