Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

If the Nexus had the huge marketing campaign of a droid phone, i think most of us would be happier. I just wanted it called the Droid Prime lol.

I think were being bias. If the Nexus was called the Droid Prime and they marketed it with the Droid brand, we would all love the commercials and get excited lol

Haha, i disagree. I was one of those who hated the concept of it being rumored to be in the Droid line... I support Android as its intended.

When people would ask if i had a Droid phone i said no... i have an Android phone.

You won't see that. It would just cause confusion for customers. I also doubt Verizon wants to sell all that many easily unlockable Nexus's

They want to sell as many phones as possible across the board. Thing is, they make WAAAAY more money themselves on phones with bloatware and carrier apps.

i.e. they'd rather you buy one of the other two, but nexus is fine too.

Just had this conversation this morning with a co-worker...
-"So, the Droid Razr is coming out. You getting one of those?"
+"No, I'm waiting for the Galaxy Nexus."
-"Is that a Droid?"
+"No, it's a Google experience device that runs Android in it's purest form. Droids are mostly Motorola, but there are a couple HTC, and Samsung. Droids are a Verizon thing though. Not every phone running Android is a "Droid"".
-"Does that make a difference? The pure Android thing?"
+"It certainly does to me. Probably not to you... since you had to ask. I'll show it to you when I get it, and explain the differences between it and standard Android based phones. Hold off on buying a phone until you see this one."

He said he would. Another guy I work with is dead set on the Razr. I tried to convince him to wait until after he tried the Nexus, but he doesn't want to. Too each his own I guess. He didn't seem too enthused about not being able to remove the battery when I told him that though. The Razr may be a better fit for his needs overall, I just wanted him to at least play with the Nexus first to weigh his options.

Agreed. I also think the they dread the influx of people rooting that shouldn't be. Lots of tech support.

Im going best buy. They'll help if you ask but if you tell them, they will let you do it yourself.

Pre-order is in-store or online, either way.

Plus, the Black Tie warranty is awesome. Heard so many good things.

Price is gonna be pretty comparable across the line, too.

Is there any fees with Best Buy? Is it just pay for the phone and that's it? Also, if I were to get it from Verizon in store, could I can just hwt the device and set it up myself? I'm pretty sure I could just pop in my LTE sim and that's that, correct?

Exactly, that's what I have been saying. Then them trying to take them back. Verizon get tired of our then no more Nexus phones on Verizon.

1. No fees that anybody else wouldn't charge.

2. Yeah, just let them know. They dont get paid per sale, all about sales for the entire dept, unlike Verizon

3. Doubtful...

4. Thats my understanding, but best ask the experts. Anybody??

Hope that helps

It will work on T Mobile for sure. But like the poster said above me be prepared to pay around $800-$900 for it.

So according to the front news page, Costco is going to carry the phone for $289. What price range would that put the phone it off-contract, historically?

If that's correct it says it's 32gb. That would make my day. I would definitely never need any extra space and could even keep a lot of extra stuff on there like tv shows too.
