Verizon: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Knew it was too good to be true. Of course Verizon had to screw me one way or another. They screwed up my shipping address and is sending it to my house and not work and nobody will be home to sign for it.

Glad they are shipping it out early, but it's clearly so that the 14 day return period will be over just before the new iPhone is released. Good play on Samsung's part but it could mean they are worried that Apples new phone is good enough to make people return the Note 8.
Well it's because they know it happens all the time, any phone manufacturer.

Out of curiosity has anyone that ordered on or after August 30th received their shipment/tracking info yet?

After the first delivery attempt, call FedEx and have them hold it for you at the nearest FedEx store. I'm in the same boat...

That's the plan. Just annoying that they screwed up and there's "nothing they can do"

I leave a $10 spot on the note on my front door. I just write "please leave package in-between doors, I will return shortly if no answer. Please accept this signature as my acknowledgement of package delivery." I'm assuming it's FedEx, so it should be indirect signature required, which would mean any person at the address or a signed note.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks

CC charged this morning. No shipping info. order is still processing.

My card was charged two days ago and still nothing for me either...still says processing...I thought they didn't charge you until it shipped? I was hoping that was the case and my order status was just delayed on their website but I guess not.

Just leave a signature release on the door.

Yeah probably not a good idea. If you leave the release and the phone gets stolen, you're screwed for $1,100. Just have it diverted to to the nearest FedEx store and you're good...

Verizon requires you to have one attempted delivery to the address specified on the shipping label before they will reroute or hold your package. I tried last year. It depends how comfortable he is leaving the phone there. I have 6 wifi cameras that record to a remote DVR and alert me of movement by my doors and I live deep in the woods. I also conveniently scheduled all 4 of my service appointments for work located within 15 minutes of my house for Tuesday once I found out it was being delivered lol. Everyone's situation is different I suppose.

This. Indirect signature can be a signed note. I do it frequently but do get that some might live in an area where they aren't comfortable with this.

I preordered mine through Costco and got my tracking info today from Verizon....my phone actually goes to Costco from my understanding and they'll notify me to come get it. spoke with Costco rep just now that said they'd have to get permission from Verizon to give out to me since it's coming in earlier then 14th. said to call back a couple days after it shows delivered....ha ha, I'll be there with Verizon rep on the phone once I see it's delivered!

Don't be surprised if you wake up to a shipped message. Verizon's systems fall behind during high shipping volumes.

Not sure with Verizon, but on Tmobile their site is often behind real time shipping. Does FedEx have an app where you can track incoming shipments? My ups does (Tmobile )- that should update as any activity occurs
