The local Verizon retail store that ordered my phone tells me that they now have it, but can't release it until their district manager authorizes it. They claim that they probably won't be able to release it to me until the 15th.
Tell that store to call Customer Service. That phone has been officially released by Verizon and they can confirm it.
When I get mine I'm go on g to charge it to full before I turn it on.
Oops...I don't read directions well I guess. Ha. I was pleasantly surprised when I turned mine on and it was 94% thoughOne of the little info things that comes with the paperwork said to charge it to full before turning it on.
That's a precaution. I have been doing that my last few phones as I know the power needed to fully setup esp if there are pending updates. One of the little info things that comes with the paperwork said to charge it to full before turning it on.
This would actually worry me, depending on the manufacture date. If it's been sitting on a shelf for even a few weeks at a near full charge, I'd be concerned about degraded battery life already.Oops...I don't read directions well I guess. Ha. I don't know... Typically any new device I receive has battery in the 50%-80% range. Ran it down to about 30% before I went to sleep, screen was on for over 5 hoursThis would actually worry me, depending on the manufacture date. Yeah, I would've expected them to show up at a normal storage charge level closer to 50%. Coming out of the factory at 94% would be abuse in my book for typical lithium batteries, and possibly worthy of a warranty claim since it's sealed. I know Samsung said these should be good for over two years. Unless they have some new tech to protect the batteries from the degradation caused by full (and along the same lines, empty) charge levels, I would be suspect of that claim.I don't know... If the phone was fully charged from the factory, 6% is a lot to lose when on the shelf. Yes, the batteries do self discharge a little bit, but I would expect it to still be 100% unless it's already damaged. I've had my backup phone in storage charge for months on end with less if a loss than that. 1% or 2% at most.Arriving at 94% is excellent. No phone that i've ever had arrrives at 100%. Im relieved to know that shelf life of a few weeks only drained 6%.
Man I'm really digging this phone. Only think I dislike is "LEARNING" it all over again. So I found the first think that is annoying to me tho lol
Who else has this advertising while it's on charge?
