Ditto. If we're going to have to fork over $400+ to pay off a phone we didn't in the first place but were more or less forced into, then it's just adding insult to injury. The more I think about it the less I'm liking this roll out on Verizon's part. It's smoke and mirrors. Makes you believe you're getting a good deal but in actuality you're paying more than you would if you had the annual upgrade. It's just a way to recover costs.

I'm a trucker, so I don't have many options because I need the best coverage. Not to mention my corporate discount also makes them one of the best priced stores services for me.Smh, this and now throttling video quality. Might have to leave VZW

Here's the scoop on the Verizon 50% off including trade in. I knew there was a catch! If I trade in my Note 5, I receive the 50% off promo... HOWEVER, I NEED TO REMAIN WITH VERIZON FOR TWO YEARS IN ORDER TO RECOUP THE PROMO PRICE. In other words, it's a CONTRACT and I thought VZ was moving away from contracts! If I port out or pay off the phone prior to the two years, my balance is based on the $40.00 per month rather than the $20.00 per month. This promo is simply another way to lock folks into Verizon. If that's what you want, go for it.

I'm not going to preorder. I'm going to go into a Verizon store on release day and pay off half of what I owe on my S8 and return it to Verizon and then get the Note 8.
My finances will thank me for doing that.
If you plan to get it on day one, you'd best preorder it. It doesn't cost you anything to preorder the phone, you are eligible for freebies, and if you don't there is a good chance they won't have any available on launch day to sell you.
I preordred a midnight black. But my Note Edge isn't on the rebate list.
So that totally sucks! Note 4 is though.
I wonder if that is because the note edge was discontinued?
you know Note Edge is an experimental phone, which was made for the very tech savvy. it was also very expensive at the time. I think I paid 850 before tax, two and a half years ago.
That's why it didn't sell a lot. In fact I have yet to see anyone using Note Edge.![]()
I would be sorry to let it go, but VZW offered me $100 for it and I am taking it. No need to hang on to it. Also I checked online the Note Edge is fetching only about 150 to 175 on eBay.
BTW, Note 4 is on VZW's list for 25% off of Note 8.
Did you own a Note 7? If so, you can bypass Verizon and get what you want through Samsung.
