Verizon Note 7 Recall Thread

The Verizon store where my wife's' S7 was purchased just handed us the boxed phone and a sheet of paper that had instructions for transferring data from her old G3 to the S7...

It's a lot easier going from a recent Samsung phone like S7 or Note7 to another Note 7. 1) Use SmartSwitch to back everything up on a SD card. 2) Put SD card into new phone. 3) Use SmartSwitch to restore everything from backup on the SD card. QED.
 
When you replace a note through the insurance company (Asurion), they do not include the SPen. They tell you to remove yours before returning.
So, I guess they consider it an accessory.

This is really getting my blood boiling now !

Not only was I treated like crap at the Canton Ohio Company store I now see my memory card was not put into my loaner.

I was given crap because I ASKED for the SPen the manager went off with out letting me even explain things. They demanded the original box etc.
The whole visit was while over 3 hours and I had to make 2 trips to complete the transaction. I do believe this manager was having a bad day and took it out on me
I am handicapped and for some reason Verizon things its a good idea not to have many chairs. No fun for me standing.

As for my missing 256 memory card that is my own stupidity for letting the manager give me a bums rush out of the store.

Smartswitch is not on a Verizon note 7.Does the Verizon cloud service work just as good?
 
My Verizon chat rep said to keep all accessories, they just want the phones back. So, my question is... is the S-pen an accessory?

i am so sorry that when you took your phone off the charger that it was so hot that you dropped the phone and the spen popped out and you dog grabbed it and tore it up and ate it. if they would like it back show them the bag of dog excrement that may or may not contain part of the pen.

Yes, I have had my Note 4 replaced several times for a software issue. Each time I received a "refurbished" replacement...Spen, battery and battery cover not included. Of course the Note 7 has a sealed battery cover. But pretty sure they would not include the SPen when replacing with a refurbished.
I would assume we will be receiving a new Note 7 that will include all the accessories.
I plan on asking for a replacement phone to be shipped. I only plan on sending the phone back. I may choose to keep the Spen. I really don't think anyone will care. They are just going to scan the phone id and be happy to have the phone back.
Oh sorry, I forgot the sim and memory cards...the insurance companies also tell you to remove those as well before returning the phone.

The only thing they gave me is a massive headache and a boat load of stress.
Worth a hell of a lot more than a lousy $25. credit.

Agreed. I never even got the wireless charging stand and the backpack wireless charging cover that I ordered and paid for in August.

If you just did the swap I would bet your phone is still there. When I went to our Verizon store they said they can't even ship the phones bc FedEx didn't want to handle them.
 
Has anyone actually gotten the $25 credit or heard anything about it? I took my phone back a week ago and went back to my old LG G3 and the Verizon rep at customer service said no preorders on the new Notes till the 21st and to just go into the store that day, but I forgot to ask about the credit.
And the store I took it back to went through the phone and box with great intent to make sure everything was there and said they weren't taking them back without the accessories. As usual, the right hand has no clue what the left is doing....But I am curious if anyone with Verizon has heard anything about that $25.00. I am really tired of calling them and I suspect they are equally tired of hearing from me.

We switched to the S7Edge, looking at the receipt I got 1 $25 credit for the 2 Note7s

Your SD card should've never made it to the store to begin with... It's your responsibility to remove any and all personal items from the phone. How would the manager or a rep know that you have a SD card in the device, unless you told them... Now if you told them, then that's a different story. Although it's still your job to confirm everything was done that you requested, regardless of being rushed. Stand your ground as a customer, it's your right...

On a side note (no pun intended) more than likely your phone is still in the back with the rest of the returned N7s.... Call the store and ask if they still have the old devices. If so, request that your device be retrieved from the back and to pull the $259 SD card

I'm truly sorry you were treated like that. I don't even know you but I makes me feel like hopping on plane and having fist to face with that manager..
 
Just got back from the closest VZW corp store to me (an hour away). I just happened to be in town and thought I'd pop in. Wow. I was blown away by the kindness and professionalism shown me by no less than six store reps. From holding the door open as I approached the store to explaining their daily inventory delivery windows. They didn't have the new N7s in yet but expect them any day. They asked for my number and said they would call me as soon as they are in and hold one for me if I so desire. Additionally one gal gave me her private cell to call and check inventory whenever I want.

Just thought I would share my positive experience as VZW reps have been taking beating around here lately. I'm still going to call VZW tomorrow and see if they will do the exchange by mailing me the replacement.

It was a swap for the loaner on Sept 14th but I bet they would find an excuse on why they can't find it or didn't pull it to begin with
Hell it should not be that hard to find it , They demanded the original box and all .... I was told they didn't sell well at that location ... They have a bigger Apple market.
