Best Buy purchase?

so wondering how the recall will work if you purchased through best buy for verizon?

do you go back best buy or to verizon?

Re: Best Buy purchase?

I bought from Target but this is the million dollar question.

Re: Best Buy purchase?

I know one AC member already mention from a BB specialist that their policy hasn't changed thus far. So, if any issues with the device it will be handled by Samsung.

Hopefully they will make some statement since it's kind of bogus to keep their policy the way it is and not alter it for this recall.

Re: Best Buy purchase?

I tried to ask their support via twitter... this is the response i got.

Re: Best Buy purchase?

The link just goes to their website, with no signs about the recall

In response to your original question, yes, you'd get your original upgrade back. As if this never happened.

I asked if the phone was bought on contract, if you would get the original upgrade date back, when doing the swap

Unless samsung makes a deal to use best buy as a return center, which I highly doubt because it will require best buy to either field employees to handle the returns or require current employees to work extended hours, best buy wont extend their return policy or handle any exchanges. It will cost them a ton of money up front to refund customers and then get a credit from samsung for the loss in sales. On top of that they wont take on the amount of new stock it would require to profit from the device with the iphone and v20 releasing next week.

They will require you to deal with samsung simply because of finances. Carriers are able to handle the returns because they will put you into a new phone or exchange the Note without jumping through hoops. Best buy cant reset your upgrade as easily as say at&t because of the limitations in the pos system.

This is just my opinion based on working for that craphole of a company for 5 years and knowing many of the regional managers and decision making processes that go into their decisions.

I pre-ordered online. I want to swap my current one for a new one. I assume they will have new ones in stock prior to 9/30, which is the date they gave for a full refund or exchange, and to avoid restocking fees. I guess we will see.

I wonder what they would do after that date. They have to honor the recall still I would imagine, even if they charge a re-stocking fee. Right?

It's gonna take a few more days, with a weekend and a holiday thrown in, for Verizon to set up a firm Top-to-Bottom policy and the rules trickle down to the stores.

I was at a Verizon Store at 9:45 a.m. this morning and the clerk told me the recall did NOT include U.S. phones. I told him he was wrong and he asked me where I got the phone. When I told him I pre-ordered it at the Verizon website, he was OBVIOUSLY relieved and considered himself off-the-hook.:p

So I figure it wont be sorted out with Verizon till Wednesday-Thursdayish.

Peace. Alan

I understand I should take your comment with a grain of salt, but what about those that purchased outright?

I just returned mine to Best Buy directly. They waived all fees and let me keep the Gear Fit 2 with no questions asked. They said they had seen a few come back today.

I'm really tempted to return and buy the rose colored S7E from Best Buy. I could use a $200 gift card.

OK, I read the main article on this but I'm still a little confused. Are ALL the Note 7's being recalled? And right now there's not an ETA on when the corrected phones will be available, correct? I like my Note 7 and just want the fixed version.

It seems like a total recall.

No info yet but samsung person i was talking to said samsung should post new info soon.

I just wat the new phone as well, and if we have to send ours back during the process, hope they give us a temp phone. If not, send us a temp phone for now and then send us the new note 7.
