Verizon raising the price for Unlimited Data Plan by $20 after November 15, 2015

Imagine those with the 20 dollars data discount go from paying 9.99 a month to 49.99 a month??

Those plans will still only see a $20/Month increase as the $20 discount isn't going away. Now in 2030 something those discounts expire, then we will see another increase, but hopefully by then there will be something better.

This is part of the article in the link on the second page of this tread about employee discounts.

If you click on the Droid life link referenced, it didn't mention anything about the employee discounts

There seems to be a question about employee discount accounts and the increase. I'm expecting my bill to post soon. I'll see if I'm notified about it.

I just spoke to Verizon. The rep stated that accounts on employee discount will be affected by the $20 increase. The rep offered me a loyalty plan (for long time Verizon customers) of 20gb of data at the current 12gb tier price with unlimited text and minutes included. I rejected the offer because my current legacy plan after taxes is $81. With the $20 increase, my bill would increase to around $100 including my employee discount of 15%. Why would it make sense to change to a 20gb data unlimited talk and texts if the bill will still be around $100 anyway. I would rather just keep my old plan and pay more or possibly go to Sprint where my bill would be around $67 after taxes. At least I have until Nov 15 to make a move or stuck it up and pay the extra $20.

If they throttled high users at peak times I would be OK with that. Just turn on your WIFI. It beats having to pay $265 extra per year.

Oh ok. I will take the $20 rate increase lol Cus like I said before none of their plans would work for me. I haven't seen anything from them since they sent me that text message last week!

Here's the thing..

..they will throttle during "peak" times if the network is congested. But in Verizon's case - everyone is "throttled" because that's how network management works. :)

Verizon wireless is my home Internet. I can get well over 100mbps at home on Verizon wireless.

My other options are Verizon dsl (up to 3mbps as of today), or twc, both land line options aren't as stable as Verizon wireless. And while twc offers 100mbps plus, during peak hours it drops to well under 1mbps, not even enough to stream a single youtube stream without buffering.

Now we're getting somewhere. VZW should be offering loyalty options like this. Except better. (Not just offering plans that give them more revenue.)

I would agree, but Verizon thinks 4.7 gigs a month is high usage. I would be ok after 30 gigs throttle.

FWIW, are there email addressed available for executives. I am going to send an email. Maybe if they receive a ton of emails they may rethink it.
It worked when they were going to charge a service charge if people paid their monthly bill using a CC. Worth a try.

My UDP is cheaper than any current plans. Why would I save anything?

To the guy getting 100 mbps do you live in a cell tower? I've never gotten faster than 25 mbps in Boston area. 163 mbps? Where do you live?

^^^^ That's been my reality for almost four years. (Prior to that I was only on 3G and that wasn't much better . . . )

It gets better at my apartment . . . sometimes I don't even get a connection off WiFi . . .

This has been my reality for 18 months as well. Absolutely crap service. I've been considering switching but couldn't pull the trigger. This pushed me to it. As soon as my Nexus 6P shows up I'm gone...

The link just goes to the verizon page.
Hmmm... The link got broken somehow. Anyway just Google "verizon executive relations email". It should be the first result
