In fact, I'm more worried that Verizon will not let UDP
customers on the new superfast 5G band when it
arrives.
Don't worry kitty. There will be no 5G in the next 24 months. Not for us at least.

Thanks, that's sorta reassuring. Except that they specifically use the words "two-year contract," and not just "contract." And except that your contract expires in two years, so that UDP line might be considered under a "two-year contract."
Decisions decisions. Use a loophole and extend contract 2 years or just say screw it and join T-Mobile for $80 a month on unlimited everything (no more worrying about minutes). My heart wants to leave for T-Mobile but I'm scared. I need an adult.

No one really knows how it would be applied. Being under 2 year contract is the best option, but for those who don't want to use a loophole to upgrade and keep unlimited data , getting under a one year contract is better than nothingNot only does it say "two year contract" it says "currently under a two year contract", doesn't say anything about new contracts. Also VZW reps are not known to be the most knowledgeable on these types of things. Time will tell.

$50 for unlimited data is better than $45 for 3gb.

I called Verizon to speak to a different to verify what the online chat rep did. (see post #503 above)
Good news: he told me that he did indeed see the 100 bonus minutes being added to my UDPline.
Bad news: he said my contract was not extended. It's still on the original 11/2016 contract end date. Not 11/2017, as the previous rep claimed.
Worse news: his supervisor came on the line and informed me that there was no way to add another 1-year contract, since I still had another year of contract remaining. However, she said I would definitely still be getting the 100 minutes per month.
Can't say that I'm surprised. No two Verizon reps ever gave the same answers. In fact, I have often suggested that Verizon change its name to just "V" and add "YMM" in front of it. YMMV.
There are things that Verizon unlimited data can do that tmobile can't.

I am with you. T-mobile and Sprint throttle after a certain amount of gigs. There have been times when I felt that Verizon has throttled me because I use over 30 gigs a month, but overall, it is a true unlimited plan.

Verizon does not artificially throttle users. You will notice a slow-down if the network is congested or if your signal is weak.
Note: Verizon never throttled 4G LTE users but did have a policy where they would throttle high-usage 3G EVDO users. However, this policy quietly ended in July of 2015.
I had the same promo back in the day, at least 1-2 years ago. These are definitely 100 per month for 12 months. You may want to confirm that the 100 minute loyalty plan and 100 text loyalty plan are PER MONTH. As it was explained to me buy VZN it is a total of 100 over 12 months that kicks in whenever you go over your current allowance. I don't know, maybe I got the wrong information. But, I'm definitely seeing two different interpretations out there.
