VRBMF1 out now...... Just updated my phone.

I deferred the update to 4 days from now. Does anyone know when the date comes up will it automatically update or will it ask (for permission) again?

It will ask you again. It just repeats the message of the update waiting for you and you can choose to defer it again.

Be warned, however, if it's like many of the previous updates, eventually it will just install itself automatically.

My battery life has not gotten any better so far. 7 hours on battery with only 38 mins of screen time and I'm at 60%.

So now I discovered that I can't connect my phone to my PC with the USB cable. I was able to do this 2 days ago before the update.....UGH

Nope, not touching this with a 10 foot pole right now. My phone has been great since downgrading to MB1 a couple weeks ago.

Same here, after flashing back to MB1 I went on ahead and rooted and blocked any more updates and am not looking back, if it ain't broke it don't need fixing. At least fixing from Verizon :)

Escpecially when the company fixing it is like the Steve Urkel of updates :p

Me too! Also, I have noticed my phone charges much slower...I was at about 35% this morning when I woke up (about 9 hours ago) and has been on the charger on and off throughout the day. Minimal use (playing stored music, facebook, some internet browsing) while on WiFi and now at 77%. In the past, it would charge from 35 to 100 in about an hour an a half at the most.

I was rooted/unlocked then decided to lock it back up to get this update and see I am not missing much. Rooting and unlocking again tonight, not worth it.

This is what I used for rooting twice with no problems

DroidViews | Root and Install CWM Recovery on Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 Android 4.1.1/4.1.2

As for blocking the updates you need to change the extension on 4 files using a file editor, I used File Expert.. You need to go to system folder then app folder and change extensions for:

FWUgrade.apk
FWUgrade.odex
SDM.apk
SDM.odex

I just added .bak to each.

Do you add .baK after .apk and .odex?

Did anyone else lose there ability to swipe to call with this new update?

Try sliding from the number and not the picture. I thought they turned it off last update but it just changed to needing to swipe a different area.

I haven't noticed much change so far. Seems to running well. I, thankfully, didn't have any of the major issues with the last update. The only thing I really noticed an improvement on was the multi view. Before the YouTube app would turn white when you would click the other window. Now all apps that are compatible with it seem to run well in the background.

So far a winner update in my book (which is a rarity to say the least)

Hoping it truly fixes issues for everyone, man what a fiasco that last one was.

I had the previous upgrade and the signal issues that came with it. Rooted, tried a couple of ROM's (Hyperdrive and Synergy) and ultimately went back to the VRBMB1 firmware. Phone worked great again. Downloaded this update today and everything seems ok, but the signal is not quite as good IMO as it was with MB1. The reception is good but now my phone gets pretty hot, pretty fast. Consequently, battery life doesn't seem to be as good.

Seems like VZW is going through all this trouble just to get that Caller ID app installed. Someone either lost a bet or VZW is desperate to get some extra cash by pushing it on us (just put in the Play store and let people download/pay for it if they want).

I updated a few hours ago and I'm happy to say my phone is back to being AWESOME. I hate Verizon but they came through with a timely update to a big screw up. Ahhhhh loving my 4G speed

After nearly 24 hours, for me at least, the update was unsuccessful. It improved, but now I am topping out at about 3 mb up and 6 down...nowhere near what it once was.

I am also not totally convinced that my phone is fixed. I think that battery still drains fast and connection is not great. Only real improvement is that my text messages all go thru now. I will test it thoroughly this weekend. Ironic thing.........I received a replacement phone Wednesday night but didn't do anything with it yet

This is what I did

FWUgrade.bak
FWUgrade.odex.bak
SDM.bak
SDM.odex.bak

*It says could not rename when I try. Stock rooted.*

Same here. Signal and battery are more important than multi window to me. Happy to be back on MB1.
