Where is the 4.3 Update for the Verizon Galaxy S3?

I can understand that, but we all know there will be complaining some 3 weeks after the update. Never ending cycle... Personally I'm good cause I honestly don't know what a 4.3 FW would potentially bring. Ignorance is bliss I guess...lol

But I'm the guy that will still have this thing actively using it while others are clamoring for the S6. Lol...

I think it's more about being stuck on 4.1 when 4.4 is out.

I think you all just need to CHILL OUT. We'll get the upgrade when they get out. I would much rather wait a little bit longer and get a quality update than to get a buggy update that they rushed out just for the sake of pushing it out. Remember Windows Vista? We don't want the mobile version of that, right?

This! I agree completely. Because all the people complaining it isn't out would be first to whine when major bugs happen. Then they will be saying "why release this crap and not test first".

I think you're both missing the point here: most other US carriers have released this upgrade and it appears to be pretty close to bug free. Verizon, meanwhile, not only has not released it, it has given no public statement as to its status. What is it about Verizon that is making it so much more cautious about this release than its counterparts? Couldn't it just say something? This information is not a state secret. Instead, they're issuing pablum on their own forum and twitter about how exciting upgrades are, but, please, children, you must wait like you did as a kid lining up for the water-fountain. Like it or not this type of behavior is a big competitive advantage for Apple, which has had the power to prevent this kind of update fracturing.

Again, I'm not waiting. Got my Moto X code and I'm moving on to Motorola.

Dude, I'm not missing the point on this at all. I'm just sick and tired of reading all these people whining and complaining about the fact that this hasn't come out yet from Verizon. I know the other carriers have rolled this out already but I'm happy with what I've got right now but will upgrade the OS when Verizon decides to roll it out (whenever that may be.). People just need to realize that there are more important things in life than when we get an update to our phones. Be thankful for what you have and be patient. It will come out when Verizon deems it good and ready. If you're not happy with what you've got now, then go put a custom ROM on your phone or see if you can get a newer phone with the latest and greatest OS on it which will be obsolete weeks after you get your phone. Either way, it's no skin off of my nose. I'm just tired of the whining and complaining about it. Sometimes, those people sound worse than children about this. I've now finished with my rant. Now I feel better.

I agree that whining is not good. However, I do think people do have a right to be upset. They pay good money for a product that is not being kept up to date as the same (more or less) product from a different outlet. What if someone who buys a car from Bob Smith Dealership gets an upgrade that increases his gas mileage by 15% and someone who buys the same car from Jane Doe Dealership does not. Obviously, the second buyer will be a little annoyed by this.

As for your second point, about putting a custom ROM on or getting a newer phone, many of us (myself included) are using phones on company networks, which frequently prohibit the use of rooted phones for accessing their systems.

All that being said, no one should be losing any sleep over this. At the end of the day, its really more of a minor annoyance thing than a life-changing event.

After talking to a Verizon tech support rep last night about a different issue, I asked the same question. What he told me was that Verizon pushes updates in groups of about 10,000 and then waits about 10 days to see if any problems arise. Supposedly after pushing 4.3 to a group of S4 users they started to get all kinds of trouble calls. Evidently there's an issue, so they've suspended the update until they can resolve the issue(s). What's confusing is that not all S4 owners are experiencing problems. So it may be a while. I'm actually glad they do it that way. I'd rather have no update than a bad one, as the S4 users with buggy updates are stuck that way until a fix comes along.

"Patience is a virtue".
Mother Teresa, possibly???

What is also confusing is that we are not S4 users, so I'm not sure why this is relevant?

Yeah, not sure what the S4 has to do with this... Honestly, my phone is already slightly buggy with 4.1.2, so I don't think it would be much different with the new one. :)

The title of this thread is "where is the 4.3 update for the Verizon Galaxy S3?", is it not? All kinds of back and forth about S3 owners getting what they paid for and not understanding why other carriers got their updatrs and so on and so forth. Therefore it's relevant because I'm explaining where the update is, and why! It's in limbo, and again, it's in limbo because of what happened when it was pushed to be the S4. Verizon, fortunately, caught it due to only releasing limited OTA's, again, to the S4. They realized that since users of the S4 were having problems with the 4.3 update that S3 users would most likely have problems with the same update if they pushed it to their phone , or at least they didn't want to take that chance. I commend them for that. They could have released it to all S4, S3 and Galaxy tabs (like Apple does with the I Phone) and we might all be having issues. No conspiracy, no Verizon incompetence, just a carrier suspending a faulty update to keep us S3 users from going through what S4 users have experienced. My apologies for not being more clear in my other post. I thought it would lend some clarity to the original question.
Also Stonemadman, if you don't think it will be any worse than 4.1.2 be the guinea pig for us and go ahead and find a leaked version and update, but please let everyone know how it works out for you. Maybe it will take and the door will be back open for further discussion:)
In the mean time I'm good where I'm at, just as others have stated in this thread. At the same time I'm disappointed (but not surprised) with some of the contributors here and on other threads who would rather pick a post apart that was meant to help instead of taking the time to re-read it and make an effort to comprehend how it ties into the origin of the thread.
But that's just me, I'm sure.

My understanding is that the S4 rollout was also pretty uneventful. As have the rollouts for the other carriers. I will take it as soon as its available and I don't anticipate any issues.

I was just on vzw's site and read a post that someone claims they got 4.3 on their S3 in New York. This page says it is down. I have heard that vzw pulls this page right before an update. And replaces it with the new information. http://support.verizonwireless.com/content/support/pdf/system_update/galaxy_s3.pdf

Maybe the update is close. Can anyone in New York confirm that they got the update?
