Where's Froyo for the Fascinate?

I seriously doubt it's Froyo...

MR2 is a maintenance release, most likely DL09.

We will see a leak before an OTA

Main page of AC says Jan 10 update? Not as good as tomorrow, but not as bad as next month..

Yeah when info comes as words from some reps mouth it don't carry much weight
When you see an official looking website with printed text now that looks solid

Called again this morning and asked where the upgrade was and David said that it rolls out over the air and not everyone will get it at once. There should be people who are getting it today when they wake up because most updates get pushed out overnite, so if you do not have it when you wake up saying you have an update you did not get it....

Did anyone get it?

I put my phone back to stock and have been checking all night with no luck. I purchased the phone back in September so if they go based on build date, maybe the "older folks" will get seniority?

Nothing here got my phone november so if the seniority thought is true then I'll have a while. Personally I can feel the smoke under my back side and I don't like it. Didn't think it would happen but had to check anyway.

*looks to his phone that he FINALLY got rooted, and rom'ed just the way he likes it.*

Well, I got mine release day, preordered the day before...i geuss i will go stock and see what all the fuss is about. Will be back with an update.

Posts on Verizon's forums have been removed about today's "supposed" update.
Samsung says there is NOT an update available now but one will be OTA. Also said their website would be updated notifying when it's available.
I'll be happy when it comes. Flash and a quicker phone:)

Froyo has been built up by every ones anxiety for it, dont expect to much it was never the holy grail of updates.my rom'd fascinate is faster then my DX ever was with froyo

These releases do not get pushed out in seniority order. My brother got his incredible a week before froyo was released on it, and his friend got it release date. My brothers phone was updated to froyo a month before his friend. Just my input,

No update here

Don't you think if an update was coming today the dev community and blogs would all know by now? Don't hold your breathe.

Can someone please call verizon and confirm....I keep getting the same answer from them....that it started today

Actually just called and spoke with someone else in tech support that said there is no evidence that it is coming out today.....he said it is coming out and that there is documentation stating that, but that there is no specific date. He apologized for the mis information...sorry guys

I am so tired of this.....rather it is Samsung or Verizon, they both have lied!!! I will not own another Samsung phone!!!! Can't wait for the Motorola Etna!

This thread has to be one of the highest for posts and views, right??

No actually the HTC Eris probably takes the cake with the wait and upgrade to 2.1............this reminds me very much of that, except the biggest difference is neither Verizon nor HTC promised and missed dates!!!

I don't mind waiting but the uncertainty is frustrating. It's bad business if you ask me. I don't care if you're a manufacturer, service provider or whatever, the best way to keep your clients happy is keep them updated and informed.
I know I can install a ROM but everytime I read about one, something doesn't work right. I'll be happy with Flash and a little more speed. Love my Fascinate.

Did the same, got the same story. Today around 9am.

The amount of misinformation that people post is beyond ridiculous. Whether the posters are just completely making it up, or they really are finding Verizon employees that spread rumors, its very frustrating to those of us that just want the truth.

Earlier in this thread we have 3 or so posts saying that people have confirmed Jan 5th as the release date for Froyo 2.2, through talking to Verizon employees. Yes, folks, I'm talking to you.

Something I learned early on when reading posts (2 years in Crackberry before here) about leaks, releases and updates: Principle #1 - "I spoke to a Verizon Rep" = Means nothing. Posting a comment regarding this conversation serves a purpose for the poster. You can take from it what you want. Leave the rest.
Principle #2 - Most of the 'Verizon Reps' know the same thing we know. Sometimes less. It is more of a test to see if they know more than we do roaming the forums.

Can be entertaining to watch how wild the stories can become. :p
