Will AT&T Nexus 6 ever receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Update: YES!

Got the notification just now. I does exist!

Of course it's stuck on "powering off," but I'll just wait it out as I read here earlier...

AC App
Nexus 7 2013

Yeah that happened to me, too...took forever to power off, so I didn't touch it for fear the update would fade into obscurity, lol!
Ahhh, that fresh feeling of being fully updated. It's like afterglow from really good sex!

So far things running very smoothly, don't want to jinx things but the native messenger app is working great (I've always had issues with it). I notice in settings -cellular network - Access point names there are now only AT&T APN's..... Have sent several texts and no hang ups

Re: No update still for the Nexus 6!!!!

Hi All,

Desperately need your help. So i recently got the Nexus 6 from Amazon and till i got my Project Fi Sim i popped in an ATT Sim card for a day and then switched out with the Project Fi Sim. I am still stuck at 5.1.1 and Build Number LMY48Z. Is there any chance that i will get Android 6.0 as now with an ATT build i am on Project Fi?
Would be grateful for any help on the front.

Got to say , battery seems a lot better. Overall for me phone is running a lot better, recently the top left corner of the screen was not responsive to touch , so drop down menus and such wouldn't work, it would require a restart and then work for a while. So far that has not been an issue and finally messenger app is working for me....

Just got the OTA last night and the update went smoothly, no nasty surprise. The 'powering off' on update application did take MUCH LONGER than usual, but eventually the phone rebooted and the update proceeded. So do not panic and just let the process takes its course. I guess Google finally got tired on maintaining separate Lollipop branch just for AT&T lol.

Still waiting...............................................................................................................................................................

I also have the same experience. Battery is much better, and I aso experienced the top left of my screen unresponsive to touch, was very frustrating as that is where most apps have the menu icon for the drop down menu. A soft reboot (powering off then back on) would solve the issue for awhile, but almost thought I might have a defective unit, seeing as how I've only had my nexus 6 for a few weeks. But all is good now on marshmallow..

So now that most people seem to be getting the OTA update to 6.0.1 for AT&T sims, the next question is when will we get the January security update - MMB29S? My unsimmed Nexus 6 received it OTA a while ago. Will Nexus 6 with AT&T sims always be late in getting OTA updates?

Interesting, the top left being unresponsive was a recent thing, like the last month or a bit more, yes, very, very frustrating.

I'm so happy that the messenger app is working like a charm , also I notice I am not dropping data as much (hence why messenger app is working ?)....

I received the January update immediately after 6.0.1. I'm on MMB29S.

Got both updates today finally. I had to put my AT&T sim back in the phone to get them kick started, how ironic is that?

The January patch has not been released yet at least on the att branded Nexus 6. I'm on 6.0.1 MMB29K currently.

I didn't pay close enough attention to my downloads yesterday. One was of course 6.0.1. The other must have been the December update as my phone hasn't updated in months ota. Also Build MMB29K on my phone......

We are being told there is no difference in the Nexus 6 versions. My unsimmed Nexus 6 already received the OTA update for the January security patch - MMB29S. When/if the Nexus 6 with AT&T sims get the January update it will most likely be MMB29S. So the question is why is there a delay, and will there always be a delay for android updates with the Nexus 6 on AT&T?

I've never had a delay with security updates until I got the 6.0.1 MMB29K and for some reason we don't have the January patch. I called Google and at&t last week and have had no response back yet.

I have had a Nexus 4 phone with AT&T sim and two Nexus 7 tablets and never had a delay with any updates until getting the Nexus 6. Google needs to fix the constant delay in OTA updates for the Nexus 6.

Ed, let us know what you hear from Google and AT&T. Thanks
