[WIP][KERNEL][ROM] Wildfire S Virgin Mobile USA

I always make sure my builds boot, then release to a select few, to test :) PM Me your email adress and i will add your email to my buildtest list :) As soon as i get past this error, ill be fine. And should have a working kernel. They take like ten minutes to builld, so error corrections not too hard

Thanks for helping them out lokito

No problem but I don't feel like I am helping out so much but just restating the same thing multiple times lol but thank you for building interest in this phone so that it can reach it's true potential.

Haha, when i have all this school its essential though

Does anyone know why my computer says my files not available, to compile the arm-adebi but it really is there??
Edit:fixed it now i get this
CHK include/linux/version.h
CHK include/generated/utsrelease.h
make[1]: `include/generated/mach-types.h' is up to date.
CC kernel/bounds.s
GEN include/generated/bounds.h
/bin/sh: include/generated/bounds.h: Permission denied
make[1]: *** [include/generated/bounds.h] Error 1
make: *** [prepare0] Error 2

Awesome, finally got it rooted. What apps can I delete safely? Which ones can I freeze with titanium backup?

Playing around with ssrom12.4.11.2 !!!!

So far it works like a champ!!! Great Job so far! Looking forward to CM!!!!

In the mean time, I saw somewhere that someone had made the web-browser work with more than 4 pages/tabs.... Any ideas how? Would that be something worth adding? I wish I could find where I saw it, I would love to pass it on.

Thanks for the great work so far. Keep it up!!!

It would be easier to replace the browser :) and I'm still working on an update eta Sunday. BTW I need help with the kernel and the trolls on irc wouldn't help so I have up for a while on that dream. Lol. Schools first

@Avengeme

Well, i found another sollution too :) Tether for root users, it has a green icon.. It acts just like an AP.
As far as the apps, you can remove: Air-g where scvngr VM live Downloads My Account thoes for sure, list all the stock apps(i allready removed mine) that look not to have HTC in the title or Framework. Ill conferm the ones more than the ones i gave you if you do that :) Also, Twitter and facebook have to stay because of HTC's sense

I myslef have also deleted the lame book app and news and weather app, maybe a few more but i cant remember what they are lol. And since you are rooted get Wifi tether for root users it will work i have it and it also supports wpa2 security instead of just wep. Also if you havent done link2sd yet do that too. saves a lot of room when you create links for programs. I have like 7 games and 14 apps and still have like 70 mb free and a few of the games are 20+ mb. Just go through all apps in link2sd and see what you can create links for. Aslo sometimes a reboot is needed to see the new found space you have. There are a couple guides out there that show you how to setup link2sd so it will automatically link for downloaded apps.

Thanks alot for the info man. Now I have a new problem lol. When I go to Manage applications to delete the unwanted apps, the option to uninstall is grayed out. Is there another way of doing it or am I doing something wrong? Sorry for all of the noob questions.

You have to use links2sd to delete them by selecting the app you want to delete, then select more actions then selecting delete, or if you have paid for root explorer you can use that too.

Your welcome, and lokito is right use link2sd to delete and also have usb debugging on while doing it. The stock app manager is almost obsolete now that you are rooted. Almost everything i do is through link2sd and titanium. Also your question about freezing apps, from what i understand you can freeze whatever app you want and if it causes instability just unfreeze it, im not 100% sure about that, if I am wrong someone here please correct me. But i think freezing is relatively harmless unless it directly relates to the system itself. :D

Running SSrom, I have run into some trouble with my wifi, and I am wondering if anyone else is seeing the same issue. When I enable the wifi hotspot, then disable it, and enable the normal wifi, I am unable to connect to any wifi network. It says "obtaining IP address" then it fails. Tried with several networks and various settings and can't seem to get a connection. Any one else having this issue? Any thoughts?

you should add/port android 2.3.5 update to this rom, its out for the european wildfire s, it brings the sense 3.0 lockscreen and incoming call screen

Give me a link to it and ill happy look at it. If its GSM it will be a while before i can port it (working on the kernel)

theres a bunch of them on xda in the wildfire s development section, but yea they are cdma

Ok, i looked at some and there are problems porting it (so far) They seem to be messing with my sensors on the phone

Let me know what you think of it :) I got CM7 booting but i have to work out some bbugs (touchscreen ect.)

I can't wait till you get that up and running, if you want a beta tester who can report back any issues in the CM7 rom once you get the big bugs I will be willing to help.
