My S10 display looks washed out and dull.

I'm a photographer and on vivid this pretty much matches my calibrated monitor almost perfectly. Just a tad more contrasty and saturated but not much. Are you sure you put it on vivid?

Really? I haven't compared it to a monitor but still something about it is offish. A little blurred out too.

Just picked up my Galaxy s10 and spent a few days on it, however I believe I might have a problem. The colors on my display especially when on a white screen are dull and look washed out and this is with my settings on vivid. I even compared videos side by side with my Galaxy s8 and you can tell a big difference. My old s8 colors are vibrant and colorful while my s10 are greyed out and a little blurry. Anybody else having similar issues.

Hmmm. True. The white seems yellowish. And Samsung removed Basic mode. Such a bummer.

You have the exact problems as me. Blurry videos and washed out colors. I went to my carrier store and went ahead and upgraded to the s10+. He told me their demo phone was like that too

I liked the colors better on my s7. Any way to make colors more saturated or more vivid on s10?

I was super excited to upgrade from the s7 edge to the s10. I have heard great things about the camera so i was excited about that the most. However, I must say i am disappointed in the galaxy s10 colors.

The phone looks extremely washed out compared to my s7. Not just the camera but just viewing anything on the phone. Icons, photos, background. I have the display set to vivid, not natural (natural looks even more washed) and it's also on the highest resolution.

I have heard that the s10 tries to stick to more "natural colors" compared to older saturated versions of the galaxy but i don't find that this looks anymore realistic, just dull. If i'd take a photo of nature or a sunset on my s7, the colors popped and reflected what my eyes were seeing. I can take a photo of a bright yellow and orange sunset with this and it looks so bland in comparison to what i am seeing.

Does anyone know any other tricks or is this just a live with it sort of thing? If so, it's disappointing. I can use a photo editor to saturate photos more if i want to do that to every single photo i take, but I can do nothing to change the view of everything else on my phone.

Re: I liked the colors better on my s7. Any way to make colors more saturated or more vivid on s10?

More natural is better. You just gotta get used to it. Those ridiculous colours are just stupid.

Yeah you want natural trust me. Your vivid pics looked washed out to everyone else. You will get used to it. It's the most accurate phone screen I've seen. And now when you take or edit a pic a certain way it actually appears that way to everyone else.

Yeah Samsung toned down those eye popping over saturated colors that were killing people's eyes. The new phones come out of the box with a 45 percent blue light blocker and the colors are more realistic which take getting used to.

While I agree, to each their own. It's all personal preference.

I gotta say, I'm surprised. I'm on the Natural setting and my screen looks fantastic. I was on Basic mode on my S8 before my S10 and I think the S10's display is a marked improvement.

Bought my S10 a week after launch and my T-Mobile location only had two devices that they received the day I bought them. Wondering if I got a different manufacturing run. Quality control? Pure speculation here.

No issues with mine....I did go vivid though

I just got my phone and used it yesterday on Natural and just now turned it to Vivid I am thinking that is the preferred by most. I also put my screen on WQHD so I'll see how it looks later at work when watching one of my Tivo shows on dinner break.

Congrats, how you like the color in person?

I like it a lot! Glad I bought this clear glitter Spigen case. I have 3 cases now LOL! And the phone is lighter than my 9 plus glad I bought pop sockets too. Do you guys keep adaptive brightness on too? I just have it on the wallpaper that was already on the home screen cause it matches my phone color and it's much prettier and brighter with Vivid. I just need to know all the normal good settings. I'm gonna scroll through the threads here a little got to get ready for work soon. But I love it!

Yes I leave adaptive brightness on and for AOD ..
I'm glad your loving it , great phone and it is light phone for its size.

To be honest, this is likely because of what you are used to. Samsung displays used to be way oversaturated, making them pop. Now they are so much better, and accurate, but if you are used to the colors popping like that, you may be disappointed. But the current display is the best ever made.

This. All day. I had the S8 and upgraded to the S10 and I like the S10 display so much more. It's subjective I suppose, but in my opinion it is hands down the best money can buy.
