My 4G is active in Syracuse, NY. There is an announcement at Verizon:

It used to be you had to be in a MLB/NFL/NBA size city to have LTE but now implementation is moving to AAA towns like Syracuse (with the Chiefs), A ball towns like Albany (Valleycats) and cities w/ no pro sports teams like Ithaca (though it does have a college with many attractive women).
