There is no iPhone Killer right now. There is no Droid Killer right now. The point is, they meet two different demographics, as well as the carrier. Droid hurt the iPhone for the people that wanted an iPhone on Verizon.
If you are with AT&T, the iPhone fanbois will say it didn't hurt.
If you are with Verizon, the Android fanbois are saying FINALLY! I no longer need an iPhone.
The whole "killer" thing is nonsense. iPhone didn't KILL anything (except hurt BB a bit), and nothing will KILL the iPhone.
The same goes for the Droid. Nothing will KILL the Droid, and the Droid did not KILL the iPhone. There are enough of these meaningless threads posted everywhere on the internet. These threads are just created for people to argue. I think all of them should be closed.
"(name) killer" is a ridiculous phrase. Nothing is going to kill anything else. The iPhone is a good phone, the Droid is a good phone and the Pre is a good phone.
Stop worrying about what's going to kill what and get a phone that meets your needs.
I chose the Droid because it had a good screen, a physical keyboard/hardware controls, adequate battery life, a reliable network and an open OS. If these are things you're looking for, get the Droid. If not, get a Nexus or a Pixi or an iPhone or whatever floats your goat.
WHEN is Verizon going to announce any new android phones? (even the iPhone rumor for verizon fell through it looks like) it seems like the other carriers have announced several new android phones each due out between now and fall. I am really thinking about switching carriers maybe to sprint or tmobile, looks like they have a lot of good options coming
