Note 8 is definitely not the "king" of phones. It's merely the newest major thing to be announced. The V30 probably won't wear a crown either, unless it's the crown if being LGs best device ever, and we can't know if it is or not until it is released.

I haven't read all the posts so I may have missed any info previously posted but is it unveiling the 31st or available for purchase the 31st? I got a email but it just said to get ready for something big from the latest LG V Series phone...LG V30.

Will be announced Aug 31st and in familiar LG fashion availability will not be announced other than their home market south Korea and probably will release in October in few other places. By then all the hype would have died down. They know how to screw up as always.

The iPhone is still the king of phones, and always will be. There is no debate.

I agree nothing can overcome the hype and interest of an iPhone..Apple knows how to play this game and their products back them anyway.

Samsung sure is there competing with them, but they have so many models and releases from low to high end through out the year so it's tough to maintain that yearly hype Apple generated.

Agreed. Samsung is next in line, but farther down the latter.

The V30, which I'm sure will be an awesome phone, won't even make a dent unless LG finally connects with the everyday consumer. They are still viewed as a Samsung knock off. And then of course HTC, which might as well be bought up by Google at this point.

Jump on Demand. Tmobile leasing program that allows you to get a new phone every 30 days up to 12 times a year.

What are the financial consequences of JOD.

Don't think I can do it anyway because of the coverage issues but certainly sounds intriguing.

0% interest. Can pay off the lease anytime you want just like EIP. Very few phones have required a down payment (at least until August 2018 when TMobile gives themselves the option to charge a down payment on every phone). You are tied into a constant lease that starts over everytime you jump to a new phone. However there are ways to get out if needed.

Basically Tmobile is guaranteeing a trade in value on the phone. That trade in value is what you still owe on the device.

Cant help but be disappointed in the Note 8. Sure it has 6gb instead of 4gb and an S Pen compared to the s8+, but im underwhelmed. At least as an S8+ owner. The smaller battery is also a turn off. I ordered on JOD anyway since its $0 down but im more hyped for the v30. First OLED phone display, great design, quad dac, dual screen. Anyone else killing time?

The first OLED phone was made by LG.. It called the G-Flex.. It has a curved 6" 720p OLED screen.. I had one and after a year of use it got severe Screen Burn In... I will never purchase another OLED screened cell phone unless i know for sure they have worked out the issues with them.

OLEDs will never be free of screen burn because of the tech itself. It's just a mat of microscopic little bulbs, and all light bulbs have a finite life. When these bulbs die or get discolored over use, that's screen burn.

However nowadays screen burn is done by the people, not the screen. I have 4 year old AMOLED phones with no screen burns. And these have been used extensively.

Hmm, they state on their website otherwise. I hope I'm right, not for my sake but for T-Mo users.
Yes. It will run 600 MHz IF The phone has the required additional hardware, neither the S8 nor Note8 have the additional hardware and they will never run band 71. The made this point clear in their statement a couple of days ago.

I believe the Pixel two will have the 600mhz capability and also qualcomm's new processor

If the LG V30 is the "Real King" I want to move to a different Kingdom that doesn't suck so bad.

LG claims that burn in on the v30's display has been "all but eliminated" due to their "encapsulation and pixel-scanning technology." Time will tell, but one would think it would remain burn in free for at least the 2 to 3 years most people will keep their phones if it's something they've tried to address.

I read their announcement as 'we've made the bulbs lifespan long enough for most people to not notice burn in when it does happen.'
