Anyone giving up on LG and moving to Google Pixel XL?

I know this isn't exactly what the OP meant, but I currently own an LG product (an LG G3) and am consisting going "back" to the "Nexus" /Pixel line. Miss stock Android and my LG has been giving me hiccups as of late. Don't know how I'd feel about upgrading to, say, a V20 at this point.

I think the pixels a huge mistake I should have never left the Nexus line behind and aside from that the pixel really brings nothing to the table yeah there's some software gimmicky stuff that they say is going to be exclusive but that will be on all Androids with the newer OS within 6 months

But for the most part it's not really that much of an improvement over the 6p and there's nothing that sticks out about it as special impressive aside from the fact that it's overpriced

The video and camera are much better on Pixel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czio5F4RATY

I realised I can't live without a microSD card after borrowing a friend's Vivo Xplay 5. Also, audio is very important to me and the LG V20 should perform better than the Pixel if it's anything like the LG V10.

I don't care for the look of the Pixel. The V20 looks much more....modern and streamlined to me.....

Im about to ditch my s7 edge and was so looking forward to the v20 and Pixel XL as potential replacements. I had a G3 that I loved the heck out of and almost went with the v10 when it came time to replace earlier this year (I mistakenly went with the edge).

That being said, the final specs for both phones aren't blowing me away and the marginal improvements over prior models and comparative devices do not justify such a hefty increase in price.

At this point, I'd be very interested in the Axon 7 or One+ Three, but I'm on Verizon. As such, I'm contemplating limping on w/ my edge until next year.

I think the V20 will probably be later than the Pixel since Verizon is pushing the Pixel with Google. My bet is a few weeks of new flag device exclusivity for Google Pixel. Verizon makes more money with Android accessories and are trying to leverage Google as an on par Apple competitor.

IMO the V20 is the better option for media fans, but much better proposition if $650 as maybe the case.

No SD, no removable battery, no dual camera and inferior sound. The only think Pixel may have as an edge is the 821 and AMOLED if that rocks your boat

Presuming $650 is accurate, I will test the V20 out whenever Verizon releases it. The Note 7 spoiled me, but Samsung burned a bridge with me and other customers. Will not buy a Samsung device again unless removable battery.... I guess the Note 7 was it then.

I need to test the low light pics and see if as grainy as reviews state. Makes no sense for LG to miss something so basic. Depth of field is also an issue....

Darn Samsung QC.

Samsung has also permanently lost me as a customer over my lemon edge and how I've been treated the past several months. Last month I bought a new refrigerator, and despite all of the sales guys pushing Samsung hard, I bypassed them specifically because of my experience and went w/ Whirlpool.

I think my issue and the Note 7 debacle is anecdotal evidence that Samsung just has gotten too big for their britches.

Regarding the v20, the purported low light photo quality is my biggest concern, but perhaps this is a pre-prod issue and will not be present on the retail units.

Regarding the price, if it came in at $650, I think that'd be a fair price. I was under the impression it's $800 on AT&T, though.

I wouldn't worry about the camera much. Even if it was the worst of the 2016 models, that doesn't make it a bad camera. I think a lot of camera reviews are over exaggerating the quality between phones (both good and bad), zooming in to the pixel level to prove their point when most people won't notice.

Reviews also only test in auto mode, which makes a lot of the tests mostly subjective and only relevant if you simply point and shoot. Even tapping on a different area of the screen can cause the auto mode to change the exposure and skew a test result. If you're willing to shoot manual modes, it's a whole other ball of wax and puts all the current cameras pretty much on par with each other.

Heck, to this day one of my best quality photos was a light painting taken with my G4. It even bests some of the ones I get with my DSLR. I'm sure a camera reviewer would slam it compared to something like the Note 7, but you'll never see me complain about its ability to take a low light shot. I don't see how the V20 could be any worse.

How can you possibly claim the cameras are better when neither phone is actually been released yet?

These phones cameras can't even be compared especially when you take into consideration that the LG G2 has both the wide-angle camera and a regular camera that alone makes it Superior in camera function to the pixle

The lack of an SD card makes it not really useful for video or anything that takes much memory

$830 at AT&T.
Don't see it being any cheaper on other carriers.

I'm leaning towards picking up the Pixel XL from Verizon next week, and give it a 14 day test run. Glad to see today that Pixel OS updates on Verizon will be the same schedule as unlocked Google phones and the Verizon version will let you uninstall all the Verizon included apps.

Google Pixel XL looks like the real deal. Really impressed with their camera demonstration in the live presentation.
Plus faster, newer 821 processor than V20.
AMOLED screen (better battery life)
Larger battery
New version of Nouget of 7.1, instead of 7.0

And best part - pre-order today and delivery is by Oct 20 (verizon says).

LG lost so many sales by dragging their feet with this terrible V20 launch, which began teasing exactly 60 days ago.
I still LG for this terribly handled launch and "everybody gets a pre production unit" mentality but I can't settle for a nice camera with no manual controls. Third party apps never have the same access to the camera as the manufacturer either. Maybe one day that will change but that's how it is right now. Simply no choice but to wait for this slooooooooow release of news. Its like they have is a date and now are still holding out on price for T-Mobile and other carriers. In the meantime I've been rekindling my love with the Lumia 1020 just for fun and just in case 10-11 months down the road I get hit with a bootloop. Hopefully though the 1020 can serve as an occasional trip down memory lane and not in case of emergency.
