Are you going to switch to the S7 Edge from the 6P?

I'm considering going the opposite direction actually. I like the size of the s7, but I get lag in weird places it shouldn't given the power. I had a 6p before it with a defective screen, and didn't want to go through the same replacement gauntlet I did with the OG Nexus 5 due to defective screens. Part of my brain says not to because of SD 820 vs 810, but I'm not a super heavy user that would notice.

Only thing holding me back is the battery life in the edge. 5 hours screen on time is nothing to sneeze at.

Have you seen the latest battery tests for the edge? Pretty, pretty, pretty bad....

Okay well... I lied. I will be swapping most likely. T-Mobile has a BOGO deal going on and a friend is going to join my account to do it.

So that means I'll get an S7 Edge for $400, a free gear VR, and a free year of Netflix. That deal is just.. Too good pass up lol.

Yes, I think the T-Mobile BOGO deal sealed the deal for me as well. But I'm going to actually activate a dummy line on my account, wait for the rebate card, and then pay off the 2nd phone and sell it to pay off most of the first and cancel the dummy line. An additional line is only $10 for me, so even if I wait 2 months for the rebate card, with the depreciation of the phone, It'll probably only end up costing me around $100.

It's a lot of work, but it'll let me hold on to my 6P and jump between the 2 phones, especially once Android N gets released.

I was and still am not 100% sure. I had a pre order in for the silver S7 Edge since the 29th but has been stuck processing so I just cancelled it today. Maybe I'll hit up a store tomorrow but it might be a sign for me to keep my 6P

Two more weeks for us up here. :(

I'm really loving the Water Resistant. Now it doubles as a Shower Radio. LOL

Same test puts the S6 over the 6P... Just sayin'

That's why I don't fully trust these 'tests'. I had 3 S6's and the battery on my 6P blows them away. They were terrible....I was averaging around 4 1/2 hours of use (not standby).

I have the Nexus 6p as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7. I have no interest in using the S7 as a phone.... I just bought it to use with the GearVR

I have to say that even just using the S7 for the GearVR is frustrating because the phone feels and looks almost like an old s3, and feels equally as sluggish.

Nexus forever!

I average 5:05 SOT on my 6p. I get a great signal from VZ, black wallpaper, low brightness (a preference, not just to save battery), no widgets (again, a preference ... I hate busy home screens) and 30 second screen timeout. That time is mostly spent texting, web browsing and playing Clash of Clans.

I like the S7 Edge a lot. The regular one is just too small for me, and I'm still not a fan of TW. The Edge just bothers my eyes. Maybe they're just sensitive, but it really distorts things and I just can't get used to it. I do need a second work phone so I'm in the market, but I'll most likely be going with the unlocked M10 .... Sense over TW and I don't buy phones with branding up front.

It's a sign that the 7edge is too good to pass up. I switched from a 6p and I don't regret it one bit.

Just had my first full day with my S7E and after setting everything up and tinkering with it all day, I'm glad I switched. The smaller form factor, wireless charging and better camera are huge winners for me. The performance seems slightly faster opening apps than the 6P and I haven't experienced much lag (crossing fingers). Battery life seems similar to the 6P but since I've only charged it once, I'm hoping it gets slightly better.

The external speaker isn't nearly as good as the 6P and Light Flow is horribly buggy, but I'm hoping Light Flow gets updated soon. Besides that, it's a great phone!

I'm stuck on Google fi. Absolutely S7E is an awesome phone. I had 6p since lunch and just bought 5x to have a smaller phone. Been using it as my daily driver for 3 days and actually love it. So easy to carry around. Performance been fantastic as well. I guess I'll be Nexus phones only for a very long while.

The 6P was extremely difficult to get at launch too. Not saying the S7 is a bad phone - we all have preferences. I'll choose stock Android over Touchwiz anyday. There are definitely some nice things in Samsung phones though.

I used to switch phones to the next big thing constantly. For the first time in like, forever, I have no desire. I get fast updates and everything works. I love it.

This. Totally me.

I went back and forth with it for a while, even had a pre order in but cancelled. I just really like this phone to much. There is NO reason to upgrade to the S7 Edge. I did have a chance to play with one in great length. Beautiful device and hardware but I much rather preferred the simplistic, minimalistic approach on my 6P over everything that touchwiz offers.

The camera is somewhat better on the S7E but the 6P has proven it is very capable to take high quality photos in various settings. I just couldn't justify it. I'm simply content with my 6P!
