Are you planning to get the Pixel 7?

I'm going to reset mine before I turn it in. They may, or may not, re do it.

Yeah, that's what I was planning to do. Apparently they approve the trade in right there and then. Didn't know if they needed to see it reset...I'm probably overthinking it...lol

You can reset it prior and then get it through to the home screen by skipping all the set up options ...that will make it easier for when the BB salesperson has to reset it ...

Let's go peeps ..make sure you visit your local BestBuy and carriers ..phones are on display ..

WHOAH! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing! Man, the Pixel 7 Pro looks HUGE! Gorgeous phones.

Yeah, thanks for posting the pics! Maybe a long shot, but I might go to BB Wednesday evening and see if I can get mine already. :)

I have a Pixel 6pro and had no thoughts of upgrading until I saw an incredible deal from ATT. They offered me $800.00 on a trade-in. It wasn't until I checked the trade-in on my wife's Pixel 5 that I was sold, also $800.00. That $3.50+ for 36 months to get a brand new Pixel 7 Pro. I had to pull the trigger. Hopefully I'll see it on 10/13

I decided to trade in my 6 Pro for one reason and that's because I want face unlock and I want it as soon as possible. I've had the 6 Pro since launch and I've mostly been happy with it but the fingerprint sensor has always drove me nuts and many time's I've curse it out loud when I've tried to unlock it on the go only to let out my defeated sigh as I type in my code lol. Before I owned the 6 Pro I had the 4 XL and I loved the face unlock it was so second nature to just pick it up and it unlocks and I don't even have to think about it. To be honest during the 7 Pro presentation when they said it had face unlock I opened the page on my browser and started the steps to trade in the 6 Pro. Again, great phone but that one flaw drove me nuts and I'm eagerly awaiting delivery later in the week and I've already ordered my Spigen case!

I mentioned in another forum that I just came back from playing with both phones again and I find the pixel 7 to be improved on the screen compared to the Pixel 6.. just my observations with my untrained eyes lol.. definitely a nice feeling in hand with the matte sides.. and the flat screen..

I wish the 7 Pro was a flat screen as well....

But it's at least a bit less curved than the P6 pro
I checked out the 7 Pro at Verizon today. I had my S22U with me and compared the display curves. The 7Pro is noticably less curved to my eyes than the S22U

Does the pixel 7's retain that hollow plasticky sound when you tap the screen or back? The s22 ultra feels more premium than the P6 pro. Not a deal breaker, but a bit disappointing IMO.

With all the security on the devices I really couldn't tell to be honest. It does feel lighter than my S22U. But that is not a bad thing

Asked this in the pre-order thread to no avail...

Can anyone confirm the Verizon upgrade deal? As I read it, it's $700 period (not 'up to') with trade in...and the trade in list includes some oldies and is not condition dependent? Ie: $700 for my LG V30 with chipped (but functional) screen? That seems like an obvious call, if so.

That how I read it as well but also know that the $700 is in bill credits over 36 months You can't pay it off early either or you lose the bill credits.

I am having a really hard time pulling the trigger at $750 for the 7 with the 256gb memory. Granted they are offering $100 trade in for my Pixel 2XL but still...

My 2xl is still working fine so there's really no reason to other than for the sake of buying something new which does nothing different. There is still no headphone jack, still no micro-usb storage, both of which were things i really wanted on my next phone. I like the raw android on Pixel though, can't do the Samsung bloatware. I'm just going to hold off for now and see what kind of screaming deals come up around the holidays and black friday etc.

My wife wanted me to get a iphone so we had the same phone type, but i was looking at the prices and NOPE, not doing it. I also can't stand the IOS interface and how hard it is to get photos/files off the device to a desktop.

Realistically...i'll probably just keep chugging along on the 2XL until it stops working.

2 XL was one of my favorite devices, right up there with the Nexus 5. If yours is still working and doing everything you need it to, I certainly can understand your not feeing pressure to upgrade, but if you're ruling it out because it 'does nothing different' you're overlooking an enormous host of benefits (not to mention the 2 XL hasn't received updates since 2020). And alas, unlike the original Pixel, the 2 XL has now lost its initial benefit of unlimited original resolution backup for media.

You're clearly one of the lucky few here possessed with the ability to restrain from annual or biannual upgrades - I would strongly encourage you to check with your carrier to see if they have any upgrade options. It's a common practice to offer a discount on a new phone in the form of a credit applied against your bill over 24 or 36 months, with their benefit coming in the form of increasing the odds of retaining your subscribership.
