Auto brightness issues? strange glitch?

Well, I'm taking back my Edge today after work. Just compared it with co-worker's iphone 5s and it blows the edge in the screen brightness department... Sucks really.

Im doing the same today. I might just stay with my M8.

Got mine this morning (uk time) and i can confirm that it is not suffering from the same glitch that is described in here. Got auto brightness off, full brightness on and its unbelievable how bright the thing is comoared with my s4. Been and done some tests outside and same levels . I have also got screen mode set to normal hope everyone else can get theirs sorted

You shined a flashlight right in its sensor as well?

Not a flashlight but just used the onboard flash on my fathers z3 device to mimic the effect of a flashlight? This was while i compared it to the s4 would a photo side by side be helpful?

You ordered online? You think the actual store won't give you a hard time returning it? Or swapping it? Once they gave me a hard time swapping one cause they told me they need to see an actual cause. I got mad and told them to just return it cause I'm entitled to my 14 days

My screen is extremely dim and i have scratches. I preordered and received Wednesday night. I dont care what they say because im in my 14 day period. I was also told by Sprint customer service to go to a store to exchange.

nope. well its good to know that they possibly have fixed this issue. hopefully it wont be one by the time i get mine on the 24th

This is not news. Alex Dobie mentioned it in the review or maybe the preview. I thought it pertained to both the regular S6 and the edge.

The screen can only go to a max brightness even on manual. But on Auto Brightness it will go to max 600 nits in bright sunlight. But only on auto brightness. You cannot access the 600 nits manually.

But the screen looked yellow. I went with a regular S6. No more scratches or dull screen. Kinda sucks, i liked the edge.

Yeah but what sucks is that in manual full brightness is much lower than my wife's s5 and my G3....thats bad! I want to be able to use the full max brightness at my discretion not Samsung's....

The max brightness on the s6s blow the s5 away, the edge has the problem with changing its brightness by itself though

I just got home in my fairly darker bedroom and my Edge dimmed. I have on full brightness and it's NOT on auto.... Why does it change? It's not suppose to if I have it on manual!

Hey. Im from Australia and got mine last night and have the same issue. I dunno if I'm able to return it or not. This coupled with the battery going from 55 down to 15% overnight im really torn.

Yes ,saw them side by bside this morning,its definitely dimmer.. I bought the regular one.

Samsung has to have a response to this. I mean come on you almost perfect a phone and mess up on something so basic! For shame!
